* little thing: oooh, lalit juneja sneaks in two-two slaps at ratpal. very bad gandhian he is. do you think lalit juneja can be taught to just barf on ratpal's shoes the next time? ๐
* little thing: hint for watching this show - if you don't look at the screen when ratpal-and-mom are on, it becomes quite a tolerable show... seriously! the listening part is important. 'cause i do think what ratpal-mom said was true: you don't walk into a situation and assume you know what's going on and react to your assumptions. and worse slapping the heck out of them.. (down with violence! seriously, doesn't everyone agree that spitting (if not barfing) on his shoes is really gross and satisfying?) and of course, she really got me when she said: we didn't have the haldi 'cause of prem's death being so recent... very smart woman - for a rat person.
* little thing: someone (angie?) said it on yesterday's bt,lt - i'm glad lalit juneja didn't fall on his knees. and also -- didn't feel sorry for lalit juneja, btw. not even ratpal called him "bauji" (๐ก ratpal! that's prem's word!) or grabbed his hands... (ewwww)
* little thing: the shimla hotel is in darkness -- we didn't really have to see meher saying "harman-ji". although, here, not watching but just listening didn't help my desire to barf.... ๐คข
* little thing: they patched in other voices on the harman-maya scene!!! well, at least, the editors don't just screw up prem-heer sound editing... it was true that the substitute voices were in sync - but they were sooo flat and emotionless! i mean, never thought that there could a voice could be even more expressionless than what we have heard already from these characters. bwahahahaha! it made me fall to my knees and thank - someone ๐ - that they've never done this with prem-heer! ๐คฃ
* little thing: ooooh, harman remains true to being ram's bharat! what a brilliant spiel on defending himself not joining maya-and-her-twisted-father. good to know that harman is not that much of a dud...
* little thing: preet's face when he hands over suitcase full of cash... he looks soo - holy! seriously! exactly what has he sold to get it? in that moment, when he says only his heart knows how he got it, i was reminded of faust who sold his soul to the devil. has preet sold himself to ... (ugh!) ratpal? has he made a deal to sell his organs? it is supposed to be horribly prevalent among the poor because the donors are desparate and pay lots of money - as you can see, my imagination is going out of control here...
* little thing: i thought for a moment that heer had caught the unnatural silent sadness on preet's face before she got distracted by the unnatural silent sadness on lalit juneja's - no? ๐
* little thing: gayatri-mom hears nothing but the name "prem" in what lalit juneja tells her. i found that segment unbearably sad. i liked that she hears only the prem - jerks to awareness and asks "where is he? hasn't he reached yet?" i liked that finally lalit juneja acknowledges that he is stooooopid and that prem is perfect - that he would've known exactly what to say and do. i liked that when she collapses sobbing so harshly, all he does is takes her quietly in his arms. of course, it would have perfect if he had not said anything -- because asking what sin he is paying back for was stooooopid. cause the answer is "oh, sooo many! and you are probably going to keep paying for it." (preet! ๐ญ) and for once, the background music was perfect!! it was perfect. sweet voiced female vocals singing that song, no music, nothing except the sound of gayatri-mom's harsh sobs.
y'know where i first remember hearing it? heer-meher have been dumped into the outhouse by dirtchachi. heer is putting medicine on meher's hand. and meher starts desparately sobbing for her mother. heer said she is always there, asks her to close her eyes and concentrate and she will see her mother. both girls do. and their mother comes and she uses heer's hands to put the medicine on meher's arm. and both girls feel the immense relief of her presence and smile through their tears. it had this song in the background - not as stark, but it stuck in my head 'cause it was so sweet.
* little thing: hmmm.. after having written that, i'm thinking: what is it about heer that people who are .. um .. no longer around use her to touch and soothe their (other) loved ones? hmmmm....!
* little thing: of course, it is heer who discovers that ratpal's wedding outfit is still there despite having been delivered. and of course, it is she who has to promise to go "get ratpal" to the wedding. and of course, lalit juneja is so ennervated at the mess that he has created, he actually lets her go. or is it that he too has seen "prem" in her soul through her eyes? heer (prem)....!
is anyone worried that she is going to meet with ratpal? alone? i thought 'bout it: and decided, naa, not worried. prem-heer-are-one. no one can touch heer but prem. and now of course, prem looks like he has achieved divine status -- going through walls, projecting himself to his mother's mind through heer's eyes, chinning heer's shoulder (fj08, that one's for you ๐), trailing his fingers down heer's arm, taking heer's hands with more chemistry than usual... umm... what were we talking about again? ๐ oh ya, prem-heer are one. and prem's got divine powers. uskey saamnay, ek rat kya cheez hai? ๐คฃ๐คฃ
and if ratpal does manage to touch heer, and (like i'm convinced) all this is something that prem is imaging as the life that will happen if he is not there, then prem-nearly-tandooried-in-that-fire-long-ago-in-time will leap through the flames and tear down the walls to come back immediately! and wfp can stop at 16!! *hurrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaay! ๐*
highlight of the episode: weekend is coming, highlights have to make you smile through three days... *thinking, thinking* 'kay reaching into the past where prem is waiting to make up his mind what to do - one of those moments no-one talks about much, but that are totally not chabbbu prem! ๐
'cause it started with this prem - (definitely not chabbu)
and ends with this prem -- (oh man! sooooo desparately not chabbu!!! ๐)
