can someone please translate the punjabi song that's been playing in kis desh?....they played this song in that prem/heer/jugni scene when heer was in the abulance....and they also played it in veer'a haldi where prem's spirit came to guide heer....

im punjabi and although my punabi isn't fantastic i think the translation goes something like this (not the whole song btw):

charkha mera rangla

my colourful charkha

vich sohne diyan mekhan

in it there are golden nails

ve main tenu yaaad karan

oh i remember you

jad charkhe val vekhan

when i look at the charkha

Charkhey de sheeshian vich

in the mirrors of the charkha
Disey tera mukh vey

your face can be seen
Vekh vekh mitdhi na

looking at it, destroyed is not..
Aakhiaan di bhukh vey

the hunger of these eyes
Seenay vich ne rarakdiyaan

in the heart they (i cant seem find a word to explain rarakdiyan...:S...so something lol)

the charkha's nails

hey great translation.... somehow the effect in punjabi is awesome, even translating it to urdu doesnt have the same effect and never in english would it make any sense

rarakdiyaan... I think it's rakh diyaan...which means keep there...so then the sentence "Seenay vich ne rarakdiyaan" would mean in the heart they keep...I can understand why it was hard for many of you to understand this song, but being Punjabi myself, I understood it, just couldn't explain it...lol...

as far as i know its a punjabi traditional song..........actually i m aving a collection of my punjabi song in which it is bt its no mention there that it is frm any movie..so i think its a traditional song .bt ya its a song BY CHITRA SINGH
