Getting back to the original point of this thread, I was wondering - as forgiving as he was, why would Vishnu grant Kaikeyi's wish - after all, Bharat too was a part of the avatar, and so all 3 queens were mothers to the avatar, as originally created from the payash.

Only reason I can think of for Vishnu granting this was to punish Kaikeyi for her sins, and that punishment package included the horrendous fate of having to watch 6 of her newborns get killed moments after being born.

That could be true. After all, Karma is inevitable and no one can escape it.

I heard that Bharat was the incarnation of Vishnu's Sudarshan Chakra, and Ram was the actual incarnation of Vishnuji. Maybe Kaikeyi wanted the actual avatar?
