'I couldn't have handled my dhoti coming off'

THE girls were hooting and there was loud applause when I came on stage. I actually felt like a supermodel," smiles Sammir Dattani, who recently walked the ramp for designer Krishna Mehta at a fashion week in Mumbai. "Although I've modelled for an international eyewear brand earlier, I've never been up on the ramp before. So it took me a while to actually say yes to Krishna," says Sammir. The actor walked the ramp in a cobalt blue and black sherwani and Jodhpurs with Rock On!! girl . "Since it was a first for both of us, we were very nervous," he tells us, "So, we started talking about Rock On!! and how much everyone loved it. In fact, Krishna even told us that we look so good together that we must consider doing a film together as well," he says. Sammir admits he finds attractive. "I haven't watched her teleserial, but I felt was excellent in Rock On!! And she looked stunning in her red gown." The show was choreographed by Sammir's long-time friend Marc Robinson and Sammir was glad that he didn't have a wardrobe malfunction. "Krishna was keen that I wear a dhoti instead of Jodhpurs. But I told her I can handle only one fiasco — either my walk or my dhoti coming off!" he laughs. "But I loved being up there," says Sammir, "I'd love to walk the ramp again." But his career hasn't been a cakewalk. "Some of my films may have been disappointing, but I'm being more selective now. And I have enough work to keep me busy throughout the year," says Sammir.
