hi all... firstly, i want to say sorry for not updating the past two episodes, i'm very sorry, i had exams last week... but that's all done now... and i'm ready to go with a new update!
ok, honestly, this episode was very dual sided... on one side, the slightly boring performances of the jodis and the elimination of my favourite couple, Varun and Rajeshwari... on the other, the super explosive choreographers' performances!!! So before i comment, let me just mention, that this time, i will focus more on the choreos' dances, because, honestly, they were far far better than the jodis and made it all the more fun to watch!!
this time, it was a semi final, so obviously, the bar was raised considerably high... and the pressure obviously got to some contestants, others did just as well as ever... this time, the judging and elimination was based PURELY upon the judges' scores which happened through secret ballot.. where nobody was privy to the final scores until the last moment of elimination... and, to add more spice, the choreographers vied for saroj ji's seeti award, a very coveted prize in their profession, i'm sure!
so, the show kicked off with a much awaited performance by Shahid Kapur, on a song from his forthcoming film Shikhar... honestly, that song, fitna dil, seemed very flat and boring to me, but Shahid spiced it all up nice and new! I swear this guy has the cutest smile ever!! After, the customary ghise pite questions on his film, Sangita and Shabbir were ready to perform on a song from the recently releades NB album, another predictable publicity stunt, that came too late, in my opinion...
Sangita was pretty in blue, loved the dress, reminded me of Cardcaptor sakura chasing Watery in the anime series CCS... but what really caught my eyes and thoroughly put me off, was the SLEEVES!! ugh... ugh... ugh!!! terrible... eww... i hated those sleeves... that belly dancer look would have managed quite well on it's own, without those horrid sleeves... anyhow, she looked pretty OK yesterday, i don't think that look suits her, the make up was all wrong... her eyes looked somehow BEADY... i don't know what went wrong... Shabbir looked hilrious there with the purple glittery bands around his forehead and wrist... it was a goofy look, seriously... they danced alright, nothing special...
THE JODIS:
Sachin - Supriya:
loved the costume co-ord there... very cute and nice... lovely choice of colours, i loved that shade of purple and the glittering stars on Supriya's pants and Sachin's jacket sleeve! I believe Supriya should begin taking these type of wardrobe picks in real life... it suits her! The song was alright, i don't particular favour their choice of song, the music editing was very clear, but not bad AT ALL! The dance was fine, nothing new, nothing wrong... good.. that's all!
Now their choreos Al and Mel: all i'll say about them is that they were totally awesome as a couple but definitely did not stand to receive 30 as they did... whatever... i found mel's dress very funny though... it was a totally confusing mix of styles!
Poonam and Manish are gradually slipping and this performance proved it! Poonam should not dress in salwar kameez styles for her performances! As Malaika rightly pointed out, it could be more of a hindrance! And Manish seems to be dropping as well. I dunno what's going to happen to them! We need someone who can give SS a good fight in the final!!! Anyway, all the best, i hope you can hold your own before SS, all the very best guys!!!
