are more widely used by the channels and production houses. But since these are published 2 weeks in arrears....the AMAP trps are the fastest (and only) available trps to indicate (I use this term very loosely)viewership for the previous day.

Kash,i was reading article on Biaddi, its doing so well in india( although i hate it, so much rona dhona) will it ever go down from being no.1?

It will...the reason is people's minds are fickle..if they find something new they would rather watch that than something that is really not holding viewers attention to the extent that it needs...as the story progresses the story is going to go stale in a yr or so...Mark my words..it happens to the best of shows..and the only that is different in all this is Kumkum..even though i have never watched it!...

Kash dear, since this is the only data available.......TRP and the ranking of show in chart effects many decisions of the Channel and Producers of the show.....

Ekta's fall off with SP is not gonna help Kayamath😕....only shows like KDMHMD will stay in the long run...

Agree with Sangs!

In old days....very few choices were available....so viewers basically watched what was shown..

Now....new channels sprouting everywhere. Balika Vadhu has only been on air 3 months....and already is a contender for No.1 spot. Who would have thought that a whole channel (Colors) that was launched only a few months ago......would have 3 of its prime-time shows in the Top 20.

I think Kum Kum's main plus point is that both the main leads in the show are very talented and have a great chemistry plus the script/dialogues are very good. Otherwise...the storyline is basically the same as BMTD.

I think AMAP is used by production houses to gauge audience reaction to storylines/tracks....what works and what doesn't....so that they can change/adjust as necessary.

TAMs would be used by the channels more.....if the rankings are consistently down over a number of months.....then production houses are put on notice to improve rankings......though Kayamath is not really prime-time per se....the benchmark for this 11.00pm slot might be slightly lower than other prime-time slots.
