But Kavyanjali was a different experience. "I loved the show. It was really ahead of it's time in production values and look. But I wanted more." Thats when Ejiaz decided to go on a sabbatical. It's been almost two years since he has been missing in action. Reason? "I've been working on Pritish Nandy's Meerabai Not Out where he plays the leading man opposite Mandira Bedi. "I've given my best to the film." The actor refuses to divulge any more details on the film as he is bound by the contract.
But according to our sources, a huge amount of money has been spent on grooming Ejiaz. "He has a screen presence. But there are loads of things that an actor has to gear up for, like the look, body language, diction etc." Ejiaz has always been known to be a loyal man. "I'm asked to follow certain rules and I'll make sure that I abide by them."
Now after two years of hard work, Ejiaz's film is up for release. Excitement, nervousness and insecure, he is feeling every emotion that a debutante actor feels on the eve of the release of a film. With more and more TV actors turning to films, the competition is only getting tougher.
