TV anchor and actress Sophie Chaudhary came from London to be in show business and landed in Mumbai. She tells us her what showbiz needs, and what she needs, to make it in the city of lights.
1. Those who want to survive in Mumbai need to have patience and determination - lots of it! Mumbai is the city of dreams but it takes time to make these dreams come true.
2. One has to have a positive attitude. You have to be able to deal with pollution, dirt, pot holes, crazy traffic, flooded roads, and the hundreds of wheeler dealers and con artists you will encounter everyday. Flash a killer smile and stay positive!
3. A mobile phone is a must in Mumbai. Without one you will feel like you have been stranded on a deserted island! Be it for work, social life or love life, in Mumbai you need at least one mobile number if not two!
4. A job! Mumbai is not a city for those who want to sit at home and idle away precious time. It's a city for achievers and hard working people. And considering it's such an insanely expensive city you have to have a job simply to survive on a day to day level!
5. A good 'Bai', that's the toughest thing to find. In fact it's like finding a needle in a haystack. But if you get a good one, trust me your life is set and half of your problems will be solved!
