Frankly guys I think Vasu ain't no beauty queen in my books....and there she is passing judgement on a gorgeous girl.

But I also this that the creatives have made a very good point..... Why do women Mother in laws/ naani ma's/ mausi's etc. think just because someone is dark that ugly just happens to go hand in hand with that.

I more than just hope that ranvir gets rejected but also hope this rajvansh kaandan thing that vasu keeps talkin' about goes in the pooper too! and they all have to end up asking saadana's family for help. And that ragini becomes super rich and famous....and the tables turn and vasu desperately ends up wanting ragini as her daughter in-law...alekh becomes well, still hates vasu....

any thoughts?

really i hate vasu for telling so bindaas 'kaali badsoorat' to ragini!

she was saying to mamaji tht ragini is kaali badsoorat n they r trying to fool her 'heere jaisa betaa' . didnt she forget tht she herself did something similar. she played games with mamaji's 'heere jaise beti' just to marry her 'mentally retarded son' [well i knw nw its different, but it was difficult for sadi in the beginning]

Bidaai is extremely realistic. People in our country look down on girls who are dark. It is as if dark equates to ugly irrespective of culture, refinement, education, and even otherwise good looks .
Today, throughout the world, negative remarks or actions based on colour prejudice are considered to be rascist and in pure bad taste. However, we never pause to think how rascism in another form is rampantly followed in our own backyard.
