Too much praise hurting Nihira's chances

I saw the SLB episode yesterday in US

I noticed , once Nihira had finished singing , that :

1) Ismael darbar said to her that her future is made. In his books she was already a star.

2) Sanjay Leela Bansali said that she was going to be one of the biggest singers of the future.

3) At the end of the show when Shreya Ghosal was being introduced she said that she and Nihira go a long way meaning that she already knew her very well.

Is too much praise hurting Nihira's chances with the public ?

Public may be thinking why vote for her when she already is a star. Otherwise why would they be giving her so few votes when she sang so well yesterday ?

What do you think ?

You are right to some extent...Shreya and she have done Sa re Ga Ma together sometime in the past. She got playback singing offer while this show was going in Bunty and bubli but most people think that she got it earlier. Moreover her introverted nature is mis understood and thought to be arrogance.

Good points! I think if I were allowed to vote, I may not vote for her either, just coz i thought others were voting for her, or that some of the other contestants deserved my vote more.

Where it comes to Nihira, the mentors seem under the "halo effect" spell....because she is such a good singer, all her performances are rated ten, even though her song yesterday hardly merited those ratings.

yeah that is a valid point. That makes janta think anyway she is a star so why vote when she will get a contract.

By over praising her, it is like a turn off. It makes me remember school days when there used to be a teacher's pet and everyone else did not like them. This Nihira-centrous behavior is eliciting the same reactions from the junta.

Maybe you are all correct. But then why is this not hurting Rajeev or Vineet?
Rajeev getting to ride a motorcycle, playing the dhol, and constantly
changing hairstyles! And Vineet's hat collection. My God -- the way HR
goes on about Vineet, it is staring to become borderline disgusting.

I hate to say this but I think that boys and girls are looked at differently.
Vineet is looked as confident while Nihira is looked on as arrogant.

That Nihira is simply swell is a known factor.One can't help but be under the bewitching spell of the soulful enchantress having heard her haunting melody 👏 ....she is that good & rightfully deserves all the acclamation.
However,her demure & less effervescent nature seem to be often mistaken as her high & mighty attitude when it is clearly not the case.She is a balanced individual who has her feet firmly on the ground when she can be on cloud nine.The mentors for once appreciate genuine talent & there is nothing wrong with that.
Nihira certainly deserves the bouquet & not the brickbats & God willing will hit the jackpot soon.

Yes, Vineet is looked upon as confident,and Nihira as arrogant.I think it is a lingering reflection of our patriarchal society.I only differ with you as far as HR's behavior. HR [His Royalness] is so obsessive about Vineet, it is not borderline,but ABSOLUTELY disgusting. Somebody at SRGMP, PLEASE,PLEASE reign in HR and muzzle him.This show is now beginning to look like the Mahayudh between HR's ego and the poor contestants of the other gharanas.

how you guys say nihira is arrogant? oh my god you are just after her cuz she is good. leave her alone.

why don't you guys just vote for how someone sings, not how they look, how they talk, and specially from which gharana they from, that have nothing to do with all this.
do please vote base on singing...........
