What exactly is Shourya's role?

I'll say first that I am not a regular Waaris watcher but I do come on the forum to see where things are and what's been happening.

I have a very simple question: what is the point of Shourya anyway? Is his role about chasing Simran, being in love, blah, blah, blah? I am a big fan of Yuvraj Malhotra , and I feel this show wastes his talents by making him into a simpleton, albeit an "innocent" one. I look at him and I just want to hurl. YM is a fantastic looking guy with presence, as I saw when he played Karan. Why does he emit this "I am sweet but stupid" aura?

no actually, since ur not a regulsr watcher..shourya is most likely next in line to b da waaris cuz after losing his baby n RPS coldness toward him, i think shankar step down n leave da family.
i personally believe later shourya will also leave, n RPS wont gave a waaris

his role would have much more significance when he cums to learn his dad and bro's truth...and then how they influencehim or how he stands against them...right now his role is of a loving cute chocolate boy very much simple innocent in luv with this other girl..basically he's just a youth carefree guy right now...but when he defies his dad and bro then that wud be when his role is more defined...right now i just like to see him his cute expressions:)

Thanks.

Yes, I do know the whole issue of the successor (waaris), despite being a non-watcher. But I guess with time, the conflict will begin that pushes him towards the real world. I understand the need to have him start out as a laid-back, carefree guy, but I guess it's just that I cannot stand him in this role at present. As the story intensifies, I think we'll see his acting chops.

Unfortunately, I also think it's because of what I've seen of the actual shows, I've developed this very unreasonable dislike of Simran. I don't know, but I find her very presence annoying--reminds me of mini-mouse. Sorry for that comparison.
