da 1st n da orginial confession ... it was so beautifullu executed by kash ... omg even today if i watch dat scene again it gives me goosebumps !!!!! moreover dat best part was dat no one was expecting it n after watching it i cudnt believe whether it had actually happened ( it seemed so surreal ) !!!!! infact i think on television (including english shows ) its been one of da best confession scenes i have ever scene

There are other reasons too
It was more powerful... in terms of acting.....
In terms of emotions it was driven by intense passion between the 2....
The situation reqd the ultimate passion!!
That "I hate you you Armaan" ..... just took the whole thing away in terms of dialog!!
Armaan's whisper "I love you" ............ took my heart away!!
And then the way they hugged..... Karan's hand in Shilpa's hair.... the way they cried!!! And Karan's and Shilpa's face wet with passionate tears!!!

Anybody must be crazy if they didn't like this!!!
