Genelia - the new 'Geet' of JAB WE MET!!

Earlier, Genelia D'souza had mentioned in one of her interviews that her favourite movie happens to be Shahid-Kareena Starrer JAB WE MET. And she truly loved Kareena's vivacious character - Geet - in the movie. At that time she even expressed her desire to play such kind of character.

Seems like Genelia's deep-seated desires will soon materialize! As the reports suggest that Genelia is currently working in a Telgu film SASIREKHA PARINAYAM, which is said to be a remake of Bollywood super hit JAB WE MET. Genelia recently said that she is happy playing this character and also confident as this character will bring her enough accolades as it did for Kareena.

Directed by Krishnavamsi and produced by Sunkara Madhu Murali this Telgu remake is nearing its completion and plans to release the film on Dussera.

she can never be able to do even 1% of what Kareena did

but Kareena in Geet character , no one can beat, even though
i hate KAREENA...... but loved her in JWM.

^^ i actually beg to differ...i think she would do an equally fantastic job...this girls got fantastic expressions, and her eyes are so expressive you can tell her state of being even without hearing her speak....

kareena was good but not exceptional like rani in black for eg that no-one could do it...geneila would infact suit it from two films i have seen her in :)

Everyone can do it, but the difference is, can they bring Geet to life the way kareena did. I'm sure Genelia would do a great job, but her Geet is gonna differ from Kareena's Geet. Kareena really made Geet a memorable character with her many phases. That innocent/naughty look in "oh no, manjeet", or the fire in the line, "sikhni hoon main bhatinda ki". The lost and forlorn look in the second half when she scoffs herself from being so naive, or the anger she musters in the "teri maa ki..." line.
If anyone though, I'm placing my bet on this girl. She's really impressed me in JTYTN.

like srsly it wasn't a complex role by any standards.. the movie was overrated and a simple chick flick...nothing path breaking or innovative or new that only comes once in a lifetime LOL

anyone could have done the role (okay okay now some smart a** person don't start with nooooo Rakhi Sawant couldn't have done ittttt..or Madhuri Dixit (now not 15 years ago) couldn't have done it...your momma couldn't have pulled it off crap.. yeah yeah OKAY)

i am sure Genelia will do well... the role doesn't need any major histronics... most overrated performance in bollywood in years(that doesn't say much though)

Geet will always be Kareena
