first off, apology to all the poor readers of the 9/11 bt,lt -- i checked it out again just now and it's unbearably long. but what to do? it was after all the 9/11-prem effect. and the effect is long-lasting. i've gone through an entire weekend and a monday with two phrases out of that song running round-and-round in my head: 'ek heer thi aur, tha ek ranja' and 'teri or-re, teri or-re, teri ore, hai rabba' (well, i don't know anything else out of the song 😆) and with the lines, i keep thinking of the way that broad-shouldered back, that smiling profile, moving a wondering heer, effortlessly, smoothly, among dark-and-light shadows, trapping her against a wall. it's been going on all weekend! i should be certified insane by now. hmmm. vacuously grinning. not paying attention. is that why my aunt-and-uncle have been giving me weird looks... hmm. wonder if i should be expecting a white van landing up outside my house sometime this week... 😆
i missed monday's show. (hurray! more time with the 9/11-prem-heer in my head!) and came down to earth with today's show -- where i see that we still have everyone in their 9/11 outfits.
* big thing: did prem get his kiss??! he was standing there looking smug and cozy with heer - so they made up. with a kiss?.... do i want to know??!!! 😆
* big thing: harman asked meher to marry him? in front of everyone? and then told her that he is in love with someone else??!!??!?!?! in front of everyone? what's happening?!! *reminding myself to ask for notes from triv's 9/15 pattshala to catch up!* and then, meher tells everyone else!?! and laluchacha has a fit?!?!?!
of course, today's show tells me meher told somekind of a lie to cover up for harman. but i know this much: harman asking meher to cover up for his love-life is pond-scum behaviour -- what is with you, dude? what is it about this family that it's children lie to their father on such big things??!
my answer of course is that it starts with the rot of ... prem's behaviour! if prem didn't have such an attitude of "my parents are gods", his younger brothers - who obviously worship him, no one can doubt that - will try to follow suit. why, oh why, do these parents not give their kids a choice? and why oh why is harman acting like such a ... jellyfish??! first of, he lies to his father. then he involves meher in his lie. and then - the worst bit of it all - he get meher to lie. this is just a bit worse than prem. .. er... right? *worrying frantically that actually it isn't....*
and the entire meher attitude/spiel was depressing:"i didn't want to lie to my uncle, but you were so miserable, so i said yes"? presuming that the truth's gonna come out sometime, how do you think people who you lied to are gonna feel, eh, meher? you really put a "friend's" present peace of mind over your loved one's trust. brilliant. just brilliant. how twisted can reason get? 😕
* little thing: kuljeet maasi. okay, of all the things i didn't get 'bout her, the weirdest was the one 'bout her name. first off, i haven't met a single person who has ever given me an explanation for their names at an introduction. LOL seriously. have you? and after that explanation, i wanted to ask: "er... if the k's just for luck, was the earlier version of your name ... um ... uljeet??" 🤣 i mean, this woman's begging to be called ullu... seriously!!
* little thing: other than totally loving the priceless expressions on gayatri-mom's face (seriously! they were brilliant!), there were two other things that caught my attention:
1. when heer puts up her hand to her nose to cover her grin, prem looks like he's trying with his little finger to push her hand back down! 😆 has the crew told ag that she has a bad habit of doing that? that she should try not to do it? and has ag enlisted hc's help to try to cure it??? whatever the reason, that was cute -- unmistakably there, and undeniably cute. 😆
2. when ullu's focus shifts to the "three boys that gayatri keeps! shocking! 🤣", they all have their hands held in front of their ... er ... uh... *trying to loosen collar of shirt that suddenly feels too tight* .. um.. hips! yes, their hips. oh, 'cmon! don't tell me you didn't notice!!?!??!?! with the suddenly wide-eyed "uh-oh!" expressions on their faces? you didn't notice?? argh!! *making note to go slap myself before sleeping tonight*
* little thing: the questions i have about ullu -- is she married? does she have marriageable daughters? why is she insisting on speaking in english? dirtchachi used to speak punjabi mixed with hindi -- this one from a village speaks english?? rather not funny, actually, 'cause it's soo cliched and rather dull... why is she exactly like dirtchachi - in dressing style and in wanting attention from boys? makes me suddenly hope that we never get to see their mother on the show...! not going to ask why she's now staying at their house -- 'cause all who has ever come through those doors tend to stay there. i'm thankful for small mercies that ratpal's mother isn't staying there! 😆
* big thing: oooh, dheer's ratpal's brother! what a surprise ... not! (as vibha would say.. well, kinda. in a more sarcastic way... okay, i did say kinda!) what did take me aback is why it took so long for them to "reveal" his duplicity. also got a leeetle surprised at ratpal's mom happily going along with having her baby-ratpal away from her -- missing her "haat-ka-khana". (who went "aaaawwwww" at that? you did? go wash your brains in washing-powder-nirma! immediately! 🤣) i've this strange feeling that ratpal's hatred of the juneja's and fathers are linked. and that it's got to do with his mommy's past...? hmmm?
but to get to the "real" big thing in this big thing: ratpal has planted baby-ratpal to steal the juneja business secrets ... from the juneja's home?? i mean, this whole thing would've made sense in the kind of scenario that i'd painted when they first introduced dheer. laluchacha was estranged from prem. dheer steps in to take over prem's place. he starts working at the hotel/business. and there, laluchacha will trust dheer (rather than incompetent harman and unwilling preet more and more). and then, dheer will get all of the juneja secrets and give it to ratpal.
in the show, till now, all dheer has done is hang aorund the juneja mansion, eating their "bad food", seeing their "emotional dramas". and ratpal and mommy're talking about business plans and secrets?? hmmmm!
unless, of course, the damned juneja mansion is actually within the juneja's hotel...? no. prem used to go to work in a car... can't imagine him doing that if house and hotel were the same, no? hmmmm... more unresolved mysteries that we have to wait and watch for..? sigh.
* little thing: ratpal's in a merc, but baby-ratpal lands up in an ambassador! gee, haven't seen one of those in a long time!
* little thing; the reason that ratpal's mom so ... uh ... healthy is 'cause she needs all that ... uh ... health to support the clothes and jewellry she wears?? c'mon! did you see that head-thingamajig she was wearing -- at home??!!! i felt exhauted just watching her... say. d'you think that ullu was introduced as clothing companion to ratpal-mom? else ratpal mom will feel soooo out of place in this show? 😆
* little thing: that malika woman seriously needs to be written out of the show (like vitchface veera has!? she wasn't around at all today!! hope, hope, hope..) or they need to have a really good reason why she's still there. what a shameful shameless-blot on female-kind. totally gross.
the teeny-weeny sliver of hope that i have is that (i seem to remember) she's at some magazine. and that when ratpal's plans go to pieces, it will be shaming story that will get wide cover.
* little thing: hey, it's nihaal the detective again. but for all his good detecting, he still ... uh .... *a word that rhymes with "does-not-rock" 😆* at bringing his findings to light. the last time, he handed over all his evidence to the wrong person, vishaka. this time, he blurts it out to baby-ratpal?? er... whatever happened to waiting-and-watching suspicious behaviour to see if there is something deeper to it? are we supposed to take it as a measure of how much the juneja's (and nihaal, by extension?) trusts baby-ratpal? i mean, it's not like he saw them randomly in the street -- this is within the courtyard of the ratpal-house! wha....?!?!
seriously! there's something twisted about the way this show (and all others like it) share information. those who ought to be talking to each other, asking questions about things they found weird -- do not! they keep it to themselves, let it fester rot, and let it all hang out in a huge messy blowup. those who do not deserve such trust, get to face all the questions and doubts when it is still at a simple state. i really don't get why this is way communication happen between people in these shows... really... 😕
(but btw, nihaal's got a cute grin when he does grin -- noticed that in the first ullu-segment.)
* little thing: breakfast at the juneja house. first time, i didn't like something about prem-heer -- prem at the table, breaking his fast, heer standing dutifully (gag!) behind him. oh, i know, that it gave nice heer's-hand-on-prem's-shoulder moments. but somehow.... i dunno. i've always kinda disliked it in these large joint family saas-bahu shows -- i mean, why can't they just get a bigger table so that everyone can eat together?? how difficult can it be -- even in ludhiana? (or should it be "especially in ludhiana"? 😆) bleagh. gag. didn't like....
* prem thing: who else got the idea that more than gayatri-mom, it was prem who got offended on ullu's behaviour to his father??? i mean, he was un-prem-like sarcastic (oh, vibha'd have liked this, i think) 'bout things that she said. 😆
unlike ashlesha, who looked like her aunt was the best cartoon show she'd found on tv! hmmmm, i wonder what preet thinks of it? he just looked startled most of the time actually - quite unusual for preet, i thought. 😆
highlight of the episode *thinking hard* the expression on gayatri-mom's face when ullu saccused of "keeping three boys - shocking!"?? or was it the exactly alike "uh-oh" expressions on the face of the juneja "boys"?? slim pickings in this show though.... nothing good enough to really highlight...hmmmm.

and this? the shadow of his hair on his forehead, the heaviness in his eyes as he gets to freedom to look at heer's face as much as his passionate heart desires... *argh!* it is true what someone (maya, maya123) said of prem in the 9/11 bt,lt -- he doesn't touch heer in public 'cause he's afraid that he will not be able to stop at just an innocent touch. i mean, this picture is from a very early part of their relationship -- he had just found out her name was heer, and he's looking at her like this!!! *aaarrrrgggggghhhh!*
