Howcome all these Bollywood movies that are coming out are being copied from hollywood movies? I mean what there is no orignality left in india. Not only movies even game shows are being copied like deal no deal, american idol, that one show called dadagiri. what is wrong with entertainment industry in india they need to let new people in or something cuz this is getting ridiculous. I mean its not like they copy one or two things they even imtate the actions and shit. And nowadays they even tell u which movie they copied i am like y

its not a recent move but alot of the 90's films were also hollywood copies. maybe even older films but I am not sure about them.

They do it because those films either have interesting storylines or were hits so directors feel their film will also be a hit.

Erm....I agree with what you're saying about the films, they should try and be more original and I think most of the best Bollywood films are the original ones. I think it's kind of okay if they give credit to the original but I hate it when films like black are praised as being original when they are actually copied.

But as game shows go I think most game shows are copied (Even the American ones)

- Deal or no Deal - originally Dutch
- American Idol - Original 'Pop Idol' (British)
- Big brother - started out in Holland

Indian Idol and the whole 'Idol' franchise isn't actually a copy it is owned by the same company and they get their share of profits so I think there is nothing wrong with that.

They make 100s of movie alot more than hollywood its more a fixation that bollywoods every movie is copied its not there have been plenty of orignal movies as well..DDLJ ,BAH, KHNH, HAHK, VIVAH, HSSH etc i could go on ....yes there are some that are copied but if you look at hollywood alot of films are based on books or remakes of same movies again and again...

You make a good point, but we have heard this one before.

Bwood steals not only from Hollywood, but Bengali, South, Asian sources.

We had a related thread where we brainstormed on Indian based themes. That would include all historicals (JA the most recent) Vivah -based on aranged marriage, most of mahesh Bhatt's films cuz they are based on his real life, the list would go on and on.
