Ranbir-Sonam friends again
The cold war is over. They couldn't stop chatting at Saif Ali Khan's birthday party

Nothing in showbiz is for keeps, neither friendship nor hostility. Ranbir and Sonam Kapoor who became really close friends during the making of their debut film Saawariya had drifted apart after the film released. Reportedly, they had also stopped talking to each other completely.
But they bonded big-time at Saif Ali Khan's birthday party last month.
A guest from the party says, "Ranbir and Sonam came to the party separately. But they left together. Sonam arrived with her uncle Sanjay Kapoor and his wife Maheep and Ranbir came with his Bachna Ae Haseenon co-star Bipasha Basu since Deepika was out of town.
Once at the party and as the evening began to warm up, Ranbir and Sonam got together and soon were seen having a serious conversation in one corner of the room. "
Once Ranbir and Sonam started talking, they had no eyes or ears for anyone else at the party.
"They had so much to catch up on. Mutual friends tried to drag them away from one another. They had stopped talking to one after the release of Saawariya.
After doing the film together for a year and then promoting and marketing it , Ranbir completely cut himself loose from Sonam.
He had even stopped taking her calls or answering her messages. Sonam realised Ranbir was involved elsewhere and decided to stay away from him. And then they got talking at Saif's birthday party," adds the guest.
It isn't as if Ranbir and Sonam are buddies again now, but the ice has been broken. "In fact, everyone at the party noticed how they warmed up to each other as the evening progressed, so much so that by the time the party was over Sonam left with Ranbir instead of with her uncle," says the source.
