Fame Gurukul's popularity compared to II?

There's no doubt that these two were the most popular reality shows of the year, but I've also noticed that II was significantly more popular then FG. It's TRP ratings were better(almost double if u compare their finales). II was never televised here in the US so I don't know how good/bad it was. But I noticed in 10k10LGD that FG's contestants were FAR more popular then II's. Qazi/RR are also probably bigger celebrities then almost anyone on II barring Abhijit Sawant. And I've seen Sawant sing/perform/talk, and the guy honestly doesn't strike me as anything extraordinary.

Yet, II clearly seems like a more popular show in India. That vibe was pretty obvious while watching the Telly Awards last night. So my question is, how can FG's contestants be more popular but II be the more watched show?

So those of you living in India, how would u describe the hoopla that surrounded FG in it's final weeks compared to II?

Yea ii was and still is the best show,better than fg!LOTS more popular,look sameer there is one more person on my side,ii.😆In 10 ke 10 fans of ii werent watching because then all ii ppl were doing concerts so ppl were more bothered about their concerts than 10 ke 10.And it is your opinion that abhi doesnt strike you but the whole of indias janta loves the idols!!!

In the final weeks of ii there were around 500(as many as u could fit) ppl watching live but in fg the whole stage wasnt even filled.The capacity was less than ii anyway.
