^^ I don't think that Sachin, Saurav and Rahul should call it quits just yet. It's good to have a mixture of 'old and new' within a team. The youngsters bring in energy whereas the seniors have the experience. But like you mentioned, the more senior cricketers aren't treated in a good manner and tend to get dumped in a terrible manner. That's why it's best for the players to decide themselves when to call it quits at the right time before they are mistreated or sidelined.

What do you guys think about racism in cricket? Australia, and a couple of incidents in South Africa have shown that despite the sport being an international sport, some fans have no respect for others cultures. Do you think the ICC have handled the matter well.....esp with Australia that at time have a very OTT crowd?

Nope, not all all....I feel the ICC is a very weak board. I mean, they can't make a champions trophy take place in pakistan....what can they possibly do abt the racism??😕
The love for the game has made people over-patriotic or you can say lil racist...examples like some indians doing that monkey thingy in the stadium....and aussie fans saying some objectionable stuff to muttiah murli n bhajji...the latter for wanting to break warnie's record....and bhajji's case...i am not still sure why they did it....😕
its really shameful to see all this because the whole nation is blamed for a bunch of people and the game of cricket is questioned.....😕
P.S - this was my personal view...i don't intend to hurt neone's feelings...
ok...so....do u think that the whole symonds-bhajji controversy was exaggerated or it deserved the attention of the world?

^^ I agree, esp about the ICC. No offence to anyone but at times I think the ICC is a lil bit .....racist 😳
Bhajji- Symonds: interesting! I actually think the media took it a bit too far. Maybe because it involved an Asian rather than someone from a non-Asian team....it gave the media more masala! But I think it was stretched a bit too much, not only by the international media, but the media in India as well hyped it more than they should have. I agree, racism has no place in cricket, but this was not the first incident of its kind. The media were behaving as if it was the first case in the history of cricket!
And to be honest, the Aussie crowd have said some very nasty comments in the past to Asian players and also Monty Panesar from the England team ...they said he can't be an English player because he doesn't look English lol. Ignorance! Yet they manage to get away with it. Why is it that Bhajji was given so much emphasis...colour of th skin perhaps?😉 I also remember reading Jayasuriya's interview in which he said that he was called a monkey by an Aussie bowler. It has happened so many times, yet gone unnoticed.
Plus, Bhajji was cleared- right?
I hope no one thinks that I have anything against Australia, because I don't. In fact some of my fav players are from there lol 😎 I'm just giving examples to back up my point 😳

Do endorsments, parties and lavish lifestyles affect the performance of players in general and if so, to what extent?

Point. Well written!😊 OK....somebody called jayasurya monkey??? wow...! i mean...he actually tolerated those stupid racist words for long..! Lemme guess....I think that bowler should have been glenn mcgrath....he is usually the totally agressive types....
ok....so....hmm....i remember someone saying that IPL is huge only in the asian cricketing nations....i think it was an aussie journo...that person said that IPL was a success only in asia and not any other non-asian countries like aus, s.a ...england...and others....do you think there is any truth to this statement?? I hope it isn't....

Yes I think..it does affect bt to a minimum effect....Take Yuvraj Singh for example..he hs been going to so mny parties..n doing loads of endorsements..n I think..it does remove his concentration..n dat is y..he hs nt been in the best of form..bt still..players lyk Dhoni..n Rohit Sharma are doing pretty well..even wid..endorsements..n lavish lyfstyle..so it doesn't effect much..but yeah..one doesn't need to be too much..into..parties..n all..😃

ok .. nobody gave me a topic .. so i would like to start one .. i just heard on star news that Sreesanth & Bhajji/Harbajan are going to be in a reality show called 'Ek Khiladi, Ek Hasina' which will be aired on Colors .. is it ok that cricketers are going to be a part of a realityshow? isn't it better if they stick to cricket?
would love to hear your views about this.

Interesting, I was actually thinking about this too 😊 I have a double mind on this. I do feel that cricketers these days put a lot of emphasis on glitz & glamour and have an obsession for anything related to Bollywood. I think it leads to distractions away from their game, which is not good. They are professionals therefore their first priority should be playing cricket. However, if they are able to handle it without letting it affect their game, then I guess there's no harm in it. It will be interesting to see this reality show, sounds like a good concept. But it will also be interesting to see its side-effects.....how these cricketers perform after this reality show and if their performance is better on the field, or on stage 😉
my question: Should the captain have a bigger contribution in team selection?
