The popularity of Star One's prime attraction Nach Baliye has done wonders to this fledgling channel.

The channel now boasts of extremely encouraging TRPs, on par with Sony. According to Star's COO Samir Nair, Star One is giving Sony Entertainment, the number "Thanks to Nach Baliye, Star One is rapidly inching forward to catch up with Sony. In fact in Mumbai we've already raced ahead. And we intend to consolidate our position with other shows like India Calling and Darna Manaa Hai on Star One. Soon number one and number two will be our channels."

But Tarun Katial of Sony strongly refutes this claim. "Sony's prime competition is still Star Plus. Star One is nowhere in the picture. We look at Star One as just a small piece of the action, nothing more."

What about Nach Baliye? "Every new show that becomes popular boosts a channel's rating. It doesn't mean the rival channels need to run for cover. If Star One has Nach Baliye we've our game show Deal Ya No Deal and Indian Idol 2.

We're looking at ousting Star Plus from the number one position soon," concludes Katial.

As things stand, Star and Sony are certainly on the road to a full-fledged war

Sony has to concontrate on a lively lineup, just like Star One!

Nach baliye should never end.

its doing wonders for the channel and very grippping.

star one wont have trouble giving 50 lacks in 2 mnths
as kbc 2 is giving away much in lakhs every week.

if katiyal wants to be no.1 he shud stop interefering in the daily shows which come on sony. he interfered in jjkn which was on high trps since it started. it is still the best show compared to k-serials but he goofed up big time on 5th aug when he tried to get viewers with jassi armaan wedding and which clashed with kbc2 launch
and he fell big time as he lost many viewers with his no wedding show
jjkn has taken downwards slide due to mr katiyal
and starone has got good shows from the beginning
better buckle up katiyal

Yeah... one channel where no Ekta

sony is crap,
star one a lot better but hope it stays that way.

it finished all the good soaps like s.s, sid and now only nach baliye and remix remains. laugter champions a good concept too.

come up with n.b 2(want same judges and choreographers) and sec seasons of popular soaps soon star one....

Star is the leading channel but for us who do not get it here Sony is also not bad and neither is Zee (beggars cannot be choosers) but if I could get Star Plus here in Canada please let me know and I will get it right away

At least, Ekta and her soggy serials should be kept out of Star One. Its a sensible channel with sensible programmes.
