Role reversal? Ever since Sanjay Nirupam (top) promised to help actors Monica Bedi and Payal Rohatgi buy and sell flats, he has been offered commissions to carry out property deals. FILE PIC |
Ever since he stepped out of the house, his phone has been ringing off the hook with callers wanting him to help strike property deals. All this because the Congress leader had promised to help Monica Bedi and assured Payal Rohatgi about finding a buyer for her flat in Vadodara, Gujarat.
Nirupam told MiD DAY, "I offered to help the actresses, as they were in need. But now I am being treated like a real estate agent. While I was in the Bigg Boss house, a number of people called my wife with offers, as if I were an agent. People were even ready to give commissions. I learnt about this after I came out and was shocked."
On the show
In the first week of the show, Bedi had said, "The common man fears me and feels I am super rich. The truth is the opposite. People are not ready to rent or sell me a house." Nirupam had then promised to help her get a house.
Payal had asked for Nirupam's advice about her flat in Vadodara and said she had been finding it difficult to sell it. "Being an actress, Payal cannot find a buyer. People might dupe her. So, I decided to help her. But after seeing all this, people have started treating me like a real estate agent," said Nirupam.
'No house hunting'
Incidentally, Bedi and Rahul Mahajan have been nominated for eviction this week. When asked if he had looked for a house for the actress, Nirupam said, "I am not going to go house hunting for her. I will help her with the contacts of some brokers. If need be, I will be a guarantor for the house she wants to buy or rent."
