Bebo, who hosted the special birthday party for her beau Saif at a hot spot of the town, had personally invited the dusky babe for the occasion. Bipasha Basu was initially taken aback by the warm gesture shown by her one time adversary Kareena but decided to forget the past and responded in a positive manner by walking in the party with Ranbir Kapoor.
Sources say that the thawing of the cold war between the two hottest babes of the Bollywood was visible for some time but came to the fore when Bebo saw Bipasha last week in Yashraj Films' Bachna Ae Haseeno.' Bipasha was looking gorgeous in the film and Bebo decided to message her feelings to Bips. This broke the ice between them and rapprochement began in the earnest.
Even earlier Bebo had expressed her appreciation of Bipasha Basu for her role in Abbas-Mustan's 'Race', but at that time the talk of Bips' romantic involvement with Saif Ali Khan had played a spoil sport, and the two actresses had kept their distance from each other.
Bipasha Basu, too, was not unaware of the Kareena Kapoor's enormous talent and clout in the B'town and had expressed appreciation for the Kapoor babe and so when this opportunity came before them after a long seven years of estrangement, they just grabbed it and let the bygones be bygones.
It may be recalled that the problem between Kareena Kapoor and Bipasha Basu had started during the Switzerland spell of 'Ajnabi' in 2001. Bebo had derisively commented about the dusky complexion of Bipasha by terming her a 'Kaali Billi' on the sets for taking some help from Bebo's designer Manish Malhotra.
The war had further intensified by that episode of Karan Johar's 'Koffee with Karan', where Bebo insulted John Abraham by saying that his face was expressionless. Bipasha was John Abraham's girlfriend and obviously did not like this.
However, Bebo had the taste of her own medicine when Bipasha retorted on the same show by saying that Kareena Kapoor's face had too many 'expressions' while acting in a film and that worked against the film at the box office. But that chapter of animosity between Bips and Bebo seems to have closed down for the time being and that's good for the b'town.
One more point became clear by this party as Shah Rukh Khan and his buddies like Karan Johar etc attended Saif's party, while Salman Khan and his brothers did not attend it. Perhaps '.the demarcation line between SRK camp and Salman camp is becoming clearer with every passing day, no??
