Buzz18 presents an exclusive interview with Nethra Raghuraman, the Khatron Ke Khiladi winner on Colors. The model-turned actress reveals the inside story
What is the scariest task you did on Khatron Ke Khiladi that knocked the living daylight out of you?
In the second episode, we had to walk across the 12th floor of a glass building, holding only suction clasps. That totally scared the s*** out of me. I mean, c'mon, so early into the game and having no previous experience at all, you ask yourself – do you really want to do that? Well, thanks to Lord Sai Baba, I managed to complete the task. But yes, it was by far the scariest task I've ever done and I am thankful to God that all this is over.
Which are the phobias you could overcome while on the show?
Well, I do have a very bad claustrophobia so much so that I couldn't even enter an elevator. But after Khatron… I can do the same with a blink of an eye! But one thing is sure, I'll never wear a helmet or a fire-mask ever again… But elevator, here I come!
How is Akshay Kumar as a host?
He is a much-disciplined man and that's why I think he is where he is in terms of success. In spite of him being a superstar, he had no starry tantrums. If we didn't get an umbrella in the pouring rain, he didn't take one as well. And as much as people think that it's his job and it's the money, let me tell you it's not. He could have easily asked for a woolen jacket to keep him warm or an umbrella to keep him dry, but a true Khiladi that he is, he suffered all the harsh and erratic weather just to make sure that he was as much a part of the game as we were.
How is it like to expose yourself on reality TV?
You won't believe it, but the funny part is, we were oblivious to the fact that the cameras were running 24/7. We were having so much fun; there was so much excitement and exhilaration that it was a secondary matter that the cameras were rolling non-stop recording our every scream and every squeal! But I am thankful to God that I came out of this in one piece.

So, given a chance will you do reality TV again?
One hundred per cent. I'll do it over and over and over again. In fact, I would love to host the next Khatron Ke Khiladi! I can easily fit into Akshay's shoes now because believe it or not fear is no longer the factor for me.
How about the fear of working with 13 different women? Was there any serious bitching or drama or catfights?
Nope (laughing). I met some of the most amazing women on this show. And from each contestant, I learned something or the other, which I'll remember throughout my life.
How have you changed as a person?
Fear is what holds you back. Once you conquer it, the world becomes your oyster. So, yes, I have become a braver person but then again there is a thin line between foolish bravado and true bravado. You can't have a mad dog come charging at you and you shout, 'Come get me, come get me'. No. But yes, I have become braver in the sense that I will know what exactly to do in that particular kind of situation.
Who was your biggest competitor?
I, me, myself. I was my biggest competitor.
How much have you won in your booty and how do you intend to spend it?
I don't know. But I am really happy that Sourav's dream will now come true.
Which of the contestants did you hit it off with?
Well, Anjana and I hit it off like a house on fire. This is one friendship that I can claim will last a lifetime. She is fun, helpful and honest – you can easily call her Miss Congeniality.
So, who was Miss Daredevil or Miss Drama Queen?
Since I have won, I'll call myself Miss Daredevil and call me a ***** but hands down Vidya Malavde is one big Drama Queen!
