Are satisfied with your achievement?
You know something…the biggest achievement for me lies in the fact that I have been able to overcome all the obstacles to find a foothold in Bollywood. I am an outsider with no acting background. Besides I didn't know proper Hindi or dancing. Now I feel blessed considering so many talented people in Bollywood don't get a chance to do well while average people like me managed a good run.
How was your childhood like?
By this time the entire world knows I have seven siblings, six sisters and one brother. But what people don't know is that even though I was not in India my family reflected the joint family culture that is prevalent here. I was born in Hong Kong , soon moved to Hawaii and then to London at the age of 14. My mother is a Caucasian and my father is from Kashmir. I started modelling at the age of 14 for a jewellery brand in London.
Is it true that you have decided not to do any more films with Salman Khan?
It all started when I refused a film Veer with Salman. But let me tell you, I refused the film because of my earlier commitments with Rajkumar Santoshi's next and another with Yash Raj.
Let's talk about your relationship with Akshay Kumar…
It seems less of an interview and more of a rumour clarification session. But it's all right. There's nothing really I can do about this rumour because once people get a silly idea in their head it stays there. If Akshay and I would have been anything more than mere friends his wife Twinkle would have never allowed us to work together for the last three years. Akshay and I are buddies… at times he shouts and yells at me, at times I bully him. But there is lot of respect for each other. It keeps this on screen chemistry rocking.
We heard Salman has asked you to stop working with Akshay?
It's just the opposite. Every time there is a project with Akshay, Salman encourages me to take it up. He suggested I should sign Singh Is Kinng because he was sure it would be a big hit.
But according to news reports Salman slapped you on sets of Yuvraj after seeing your photo with Akshay during an IPL match?
That's non-sense! No one dares to abuse me. I won't talk on the IPL photo controversy but let me tell you Salman and I don't share that kind of an equation.
Talking about your equation with Salman, we also hear that you two are on verge of breaking up?
This is too personal for me to answer.
