Actually looking back....I think IF the TRP's were good during NP period....it probably was because of the presence of some very good actors (Mahesh Bhel, Rohit Roy) in the serial and an initially good budget to start off the serial. Note all the costumes, jewellery and sets were on a grand scale in those days. Plus you had the wow factor in Ejiaz Khan and Anita in the earlier episodes as well as good direction and scripts from AK & Co.

However, I think some of the funds are now being directed away from established serials to new ones (Mahabharat, Kish Desh, etc) hence we are left with just the two main leads (Michi) and to a certain extent Ayesha to hold up the entire serial.

Considering that the whole serial now solely depends on these two characters, it is quite an achievement to remain in the Top 10 TRP's consistently during the last year.

I remember this coz there was this big celebration going on in the forums...But I think it was more because of the cliffhanger of the last episode than you know NP's popularity... Coz the trps were hardly consistent then... atleast with Michi they are consistently good...

well said kash101👏 👏 ..& if NP were this damn popular to earn 3 rank,BT wud've changed the story line & reduced milind's role..kymt never earned consistent trps like kish desh or kasturi with the new couple..trps only raised wen some cliffhangers like ronit's death used to be shown..yeah!they were takers for hot MA romance though..special appearances by anita,ejaz,mohnish behel inspired people to watch the show..& ofcourse people will have this inkling towards new shows(tht too which started after KTH ending)..all these factors still wasn't enough for consistent trps..on the other hand,michi got no publicity which BT had done for np..still with gud direction & fab perfomance by lead actors,it gained all praises & popularity..noone can take this credit away from michi..especially shabir-panchi..all thanks to them for making KYMT popular..kudos to michi/shachi 👏 👏 👏
