From that point on, he starred in many hit films including Dilwale, Gopi Kishan, and the 1997 Border which gave him critical acclaim. Initially known as a great action hero, Suniel's movies such as Umrao Jaan, Hera Pheri, Khel, etc. are evident of the actor's versatility and growth.

Awards: Suniel's first Filmfare award came in 2000, where he was awarded with the role of Best Villan.

Apart from being a talented actor, Suniel is also a successful businessman. He is a restaurantier as well as a boutique owner and heads an entertainment company called Popcorn Entertainment.

Within the Bollywood industry, Suniel Shetty is affectionately known as "Anna" by most.
