There are like 5 stages in our lives, the last one (when we are super old) is the time to renounce everything and start turning to God (i.e. were gona go soon, so prepare your mind and soul etc..)..So my answer, when your old, the best way to go, is with no attachments! None for relationships, worldly items or even food...
