Abhi in jail talking to Kanakku. She very patiently puts it across to Kanakku that your daughter's future and your too will be taken care of by 'sar' (when did her 'appa' become 'sar'?!). She explains that the police are fooling you and have no case against sar. She does a good job of conning Kanakku into submission - naalikku court-la pesakoodaadhu (or something like that).

(Meaningless scene)Ex-omni and Madan are on a terrace (Ex-omni's house?). She explains her fear for Karthi's life. Karthik finally consoles her by saying that he will talk to Karthik.

Priya rushes in to new Omni's house. She informs her that ACD will be discharged today. He needs physio-therapy and a therapist will come home for that. Omni is glad and says its all because of your and others being around to help him (or something like that). Priya touches her feet and refers to her as equivalent to god but Omni responds (like) nallavangalukku nalladhu nadakkum, .. She then hands over a cheque to Priya to cover for any balance due to hospital, over and above coverage by police dept. (Adi sekkeynna ..Priya vandhu Durai discharge aagira vishayam ivalukku eppadi theriyum? - chattunnu kailerundhu cheque eduththu kudukkaraanga!) Omni adds that she next wants to bless Priya when she and Durai get married.

Court scene. Kanakku is at the koondu. Govt lawyer, JC and ACS are seated together. Abhi is seated in the public area and Kanakku & her exchange glances. Judge asks the lawyer to proceed, who gives a background of Kanakku not only being SKPDs man to handle money but also to threaten and beat up people. Even though he was only a witness to OKS's death, the court already had the video statement of the taxi driver who witnessed SKPD killing OKS. Now Kanakku had accepted to become a police witness against SKPD. Judge then asks Kanakku if he accepted all that and was willing to make a statement and Kanakku is quiet. He looks at JC and then Abhi. He finally says that the police coerced him into this position and that he was just SKPD's accounts man. He had nothing to add to that. JC & ACS are stunned. Abhi gives her standard issue smirk. Judge postpones the trial for a month.

JC and ACS are the Commish office, who lashes out at them. They first say they did not expect that. Finally ACS says that maybe Abhi convinced him otherwise.(ACS & the police knew about Kanakku's daughter and had arranged for her to be in RK's care until she started speaking. Shouldn't they have put 2 & 2 together and preempted Abhi/SKPD's move by protecting Kanakku's daughter? OK, ok .. baklava time!) Commish comments that thinking of Abhi was too late. He adds that we need to look at the positive and learn from this. Maybe Kanakku's evidence was not crucial. We need to find something else to nail SKPD. JC & ACS agree. Commish tells them to get going.

ACD's appa is in hospital Chief Dr's office who tells him that ACD has recovered well and can go home except for physio-therapy. His appa hesitantly asks about Durai regaining his speech. He says he wants to hear his son's gambheera kural when he speaks to criminals. Cut to Priya walking in the hospital corridor with JC and saying that Dr said its just a matter of time before Durai sar starts speaking, A throat specialist is going to give him some speech therapy. (Appa. Its the first time I have heard of a throat specialist giving such therapy. I know first hand after meeting speech therapists that it is another specialised field and not something a "throat" specialist would be well versed in. lol) Cut to another Dr examining ACD who is sitting up on his bed. Dr tells him you are alright and just need to perform your physio-therapy sessions at home. Your police seniors are here too. ACD nods his head and mouths a "thank you". He is taken out of his room in a wheelchair and attempts to get up whe he sees JC (and ACS, Priya). JC signals for him to relax and says all our prayers have been answered. He adds that ACD recovered so fast only because he is a fighter. Durai smiles. His appa comes over and says Priya will take him home while he settles the hospital bills. Durai looks at Priya and also seems to look for his missing amma.

2 special policemen (meaning not in khakis!) armed with machine guns are standing outside Durai's home door, along with 2 regular policemen (with the old .303 rifles) outside the gate. ACD arrives with everyone and he is wheeled in. He again looks at Priya and then searches for his amma, mouthing 'amma'. Priya sees that and says that your are home early because of your amma's prayers at various temples. You will see your amma later. Durai's face shows his disappointment.
Freeze.

July 31^st:

JC to ACD – edhukkum kavalai padhadhey.. naan ellam parthukaren.

JC to Priya – hospital a parthukitte madiriye nee ellam parthukko

JC to ACD – full police force irukku – naanga ellam parthukkarome

Yaaru ennatha parthukka porangalo… naamalum paarkkathane porome.

Priya wheels him inside.

Abi visits SKPD, who is happy that Kanakku remained tight lipped in court. Abi takes the credit by telling him that she had given enough for Madhavi's secure future, sweet talked to the relatives and kanakku. Appa is pleased. Abi feels guilty for appa's imprisonment and asks him to be careful about drohis more than enemies. SKPD nondhufies AP came after ACD's shooter, but instead nabbed him. He asks papa to find out all the 'nadavadikais' of AP.

Ammijaan is sitting on the staircase and recalling betijaan's conversations and wetting the room with tears. RK looks at her and decides to find out from present Omni.

A nurse is exercising ACD's right arm and he mouthed something like konjam paina irukku. Priya comes in yellow saree and gives him an yellow cup – ulle enna theriyalai – nichayama Romance illai; he takes it with his left arm – adhu nalla velai seiyudhu pola. Then the nurse gives an yellow squeeze ball and instructs Priya to give similar exercises and leaves. AP arrives and Priya wheels ACD back to the hall. Room rooma wheel pannaranga… pooja roomkku poga mudiyadha? Ennamo pongappa…AP talks about Sameer and also hints Karthik is being targeted by Sameer, but the reasons he is unable to disclose at present, but will do so later. Exactly at the same time , Charu comes to ACD's house and overhears the last part of the conversation, turns back w/o kusalam visarichufying ACD. She calls Manisha and asks her to meet her immediately. Manisha says she will finish some office work and come.

Charu is back at her house. MIL PP enquires about ACD's health and Omni gives a general answer. PP curses the shooter and Omni says unga vaayala appadi solladheenga , avar seekirame pazhayapadi aagiduvaar ( PP yaara curse pannanga? Onnum theriyalai!!)

Mani jaan arrives ( office velai ambo thana?) and Charu tells her about AP talking about Sameer. Manisha confirms her brother targeted ACD and is a criminal. Mani says she plans to leave from all these at the earliest , so that no one has any more problems.

Now it is Charu's turn to sit on the steps and recall Manisha's conversations ( innikku Manisha flashbacks ekkachakkam) She finally decides to reveal the truth - freeze
