Part 1
Today her eyes were filled with apprehension as this job would be her first step into the business world. Her long black hair flowed carelessly down her back. Her ears were adorned with small and elegant pearl earrings. Today she was wearing a white salwar suit. The colour always looked good on her as it reflected her integrity, innocence and grace. Prachi slowly entered the office taking note of the sophisticated yet simple surroundings. She saw a man behind a great oak table turn from the window to face her. She was not nervous about the interview actually quite the opposite but his gaze unnerved. His deep eyes penetrated through her, she had come across these eyes before but never before had they evoked such a powerful feeling. She approached his desk, he politely greeted her, "Good morning Miss Shah please take a seat," while shaking her hand gently. As she sat he asked a series of questions for the role of his personal secretary she was applying for. As the interview was about to come to a close the man could not help but ask a question which had been bothering him from the very first time he had seen her name in the list of applicants. "Miss Shah I cannot help but ask why do you want as my personal secretary in my company when you easily could get a better job working for your father, Inder Shah, what makes you want to work for me?" "Well, Mr Mishra the truth is that yes I could get a better job working for my father's company but that is not for me. I want a job I deserve, which I have got from my hard work. I want a job not because whose daughter I am but who I am. The reason why I have chosen to work for you is very simple I know what a great businessman you are and would love to learn from a person who has built his future through hard work and determination in such a short space of time."Milind was very shocked by her reply it was not what he had expected from her. What drama is this? She really thinks I believe her, he thought. Milind knew very well who Prachi was and her family background as Milind's Baba had once worked for Inder Shah. He had always thought of Prachi as a snobbish and stuck up rich girl. From experiences in youth he had always felt that rich kids were always spoilt and just live off their parents' wealth. He questioned Prachi's real motives for working with him not for a second he believed her to be sincere. She was not experienced enough for the job but Milind thought Prachi was his pawn in seeking revenge on Alaap so immediately hired her. Prachi tried to contain her happiness but couldn't help herself. "Thank you very very much Sir, I am so happy today and I promise I will not let you down," she said in excitement as she left the office. She has no idea what she has let herself into with that thought Milind smiled to himself. This was the first time in ages he had smiled wholeheartedly.
Milind had come from a very poor background though he never let it get to him even when times were really bad. Against all odds, against everyone's beliefs he had triumphed and now he was the owner of a large hotel empire all due to his hard work and determination to succeed. He never wanted to become a rich businessman as he was happy living in the chawl with his Baba and sister Sukruti. However one event had changed his life. Alaap Shah had humiliated his sister in front everyone at the Shah Mansion. Alaap had played with Sukruti's innocence and made her look a disgrace. When his father heard of the dishonour to his name he became seriously ill. Milind had to ask others for money for the treatment his father. They nearly lost their home due to the funds needed for Baba's aftercare. That day Milind realised that it was his job to provide for his family and could not rely on others all his life. He had to make something of his life. Just like his Baba had worked hard for the sake of him and Sukruti now it was his turn. He wanted to provide his father with a conformable after all the troublesome life he led trying to looking after two children on his own and also work. He wanted to become rich then seek revenge on Alaap. After all it was because of Alaap his Baba fell ill and they nearly ended up on the streets. That one day changed his life forever; he sacrificed his own happiness in order to give his family a better life and to seek revenge. His journey was very difficult as building his name from nothing without any help and no contacts meant many doors closed in his face. He never let others get in his way he knew what he wanted and there was no stopping him. Due to his sole focus on becoming rich he had lost contact with all his friends from the chawl, he had become very lonely. Though being rich he had many people who wanted to befriend him he knew they were drawn to his wealth not him. He thought it would be best to keep himself isolated and just dedicate himself to his business and family. The first thing he did when he attained wealth was pay back all the money he had borrowed from everyone with interest his pride was always burdened by the fact he in debt to people. His next step was revenge. However before even forming a plan Prachi's job application came in front of him. He didn't know whether it was fate or coincidence but he did know that Prachi was the key to his revenge.
