Married life is surely treating Iqbal Khan very well. Everytime he talks about his wife Sneha, his face lights up. He maintains that life after marriage has been an extended honeymoon and has made him more stable in life.

He confesses, "I'm a henpecked husband. Sneha's wish is my command. I do whatever she wants me to do." His wife not only manages his personal life but professional as well. "She manages all my finances and makes sure that I don't have to worry about managing my tasks," he adds.

Iqbal had decided to take a sabbatical from work when the popularity of his show was soaring. He says that quitting Ekta Kapoor's show Karam Apnaa Apnaa was a well-thought out decision. He clarifies, "It was deliberate break as I was overworked. I just wanted to rest for sometime, and, in the bargain I got to spend quality time with my wife."

The hunk will now be seen in Smriti Irani's production Waaris , a show where he plays the son of an underworld don. Ask him if he did some research to get into the skin of the character and he maintains that he doesn't believe in doing background research to prepare for any role. "I'm a confident actor and can do any role with finesse. I didn't roam around the streets of Dharavi to understand how underworld guys behave. I just followed the script diligently," he asserts.

Being called the Shah Rukh Khan of the small screen by Ekta and working in a show produced by Smriti is not really a perfect combo, but such things hardly bother the actor. He says, "These details are accidental. I was offered the role of Shankar, I read the script and liked it. Ekta and Smriti may not see eye to eye, but how is that going to decide what show I should be working in?"

Another thing that has the actor excited is the chance that the show gave him to work with Ashish Vidyarthi. He says, "Ashish plays my father in the show. Shankar worships his father. Ashish is extremely helpful on the sets and it is a pleasure to be working with a veteran actor like him. I had earlier worked with him in the film Fun2shh... Dudes In The 10th Century . He doesn't intrude much in others' work and I like this attitude," he concludes.
