I've liked KIT since its very first ep. Sure, it's had its ups and downs (some terrible lulls in the middle) but the highs have been magnificent, and everytime I feel like I'm going to give up on the serial, it reels me back in.
And I think todays episode, with Kanya and Ranbir re-uniting, is a prime example of why this show keeps winning me back, and why I think it's Balaji's finest - because ultimately there's a happy ending.
Of course, as soap watchers we all realize that there has to be conflict in a show, unless it would all be dull and boring. Trust me, I have no problem with that, I dont expect Kanya's life, Ranbirs life or their relationship to be smooth sailing. Infact I expect hurdles. BUT, as long as the story keeps moving forward also, and with every hurdle there is a not too lenghthy solution also...then bearing the hurdles becomes a lot easier.
KIT reaffirms my faith that a soap CAN have conflicts that be resolved without dragging on the storyline endlessly for months on end.
Today's ep was beautiful and was a sweet culmination to a recent turbulent track involving the Rankan relationship. But even before this, I've always felt that KIT's storyline moves at a faster pace than many other Ekta's serials. There's little stagnation and even if there's a problem, the hope always remains that the track will still be resolved positively - and soon moreover.
And let's see, (bear with me, I feel like gushing about this show today 😉) this is not the only reason I think KIT is currently Ektas best soap.
It's also because its a refreshing blend of comedy and drama - the laughs are more often than not well done and funny and even witty sometimes. And the emotions are more often than not highly believable instead of being melodramatic.
The characters are moreorless all likeable, and enjoyable to watch. The supporting cast of the core family members of the Nandas and Godboles are pretty much all fantastic actors and very enjoyable characters.
The leads (Ranbir and Kanya) arent too one-dimensional. For a soap, they're pretty well rounded characters who are not all perfect all of the time.
Even the vamps so far are under control, and theres avoidance of unnecessary drama.
Lastly, the terrific chemistry b/w Ranbir (Akashdeep) and Kanya (Dimple). I dont know how they do it - for a couple so physically disparate, they both not only look great together but share a terrific onscreen chemistry. Akashdeep in particular breathes life into what could otherwise be a badly handled part.
Kudo's KIT. For now, you have my loyalty and viewership. Please dont let us down!
