Help me with my hindi!

Hi my hindi is a bit rubbish as I was born in the uk. My mum was watching Shaan the other day (a 1980 Hindi movie) and I asked her what Shaan meant and she wet herself laughing. Personally I couldnt see what was so funny!

Anyway maybe one of you guys could tell me what Shaan means and is it a Hindi boys name too as I am sure I knew a boy called Shaan in junior school!

Lol .. smisha yur guna get me askin u a lot.. i wuz born in canada and know enlgish the best!! While watchin moviez i ask my parentz wut thingz mean a lot!! LOL😆😆
