Indications of changes in our society can be seen in our daily-life.But it can be more clearly seen in the entertainment world. In the MB of Ekta Kapoor(The queen of Soap-Operas),Shantanu's costume is the costume of a Greek soldier and the band on his head is Roman.Draupadi in her cheer - haran scene is looking like a mod.lady who looks like as if she has just come back to the palace from some kitty-party.For Ekta, the presentation of this great epic means only the changed costume. Anyway in today's society,a persons way of dressing is more imp.then that person. With time they will understand that changes in society ,lacking moral-values ,doesn't have any meaning.Today's generation must remember one thing that a person wears clothes, clothes don't wear a person.

Shantanu of Ekta's MB did looked like a Chakravarty King. india was rich in gold then. Shantanu looked like a servent or soldier.

Open hair of Parsuraam??? he was Shiva's devotee he had matted hair(jataa) n dear skin cloth like Lord shiva.

most funny is Ved Vyas's look. No beard only mustache! We didn't know abt that style of Ved Vyas

Rishi-Munis have jata(matted hair). she is not showing. a big blooper

im sorry but when all the actors wear fake hair and are caked in jewellery, it seems odd to watch! i just cant relate to all that stuff! i mean this show was for the new generation right! so its meant to relate to more recent times...so i don't think anything went wrong there

yaar its not necessary that all the ppl at mahabharat times did wear those heavy jewellery n stuffs
B. R Chopra showed it in his version so ppl have made a mind set that it must have been like that
no one can actually think how it must have been😳

so i think we must give this one a chance to
am liking it as it is😳

this is my POV
pls don't take it wrong

yes, it does seem very un-indian...but then again, this is a writer/director's version of the story...

lol i've long given up trying to understand why tv shows do not show religions properly...eg. Sikhs wearing sindoor, and now this Romanisation of an Indian thing.

Just because they show incorrect things, doesn't mean anything, it won't change anything, but it just illustrates their lack of knowledge and in a sense 'respect'.

and anyways, i didn't like how the guys looked in the old Mahabharat...but if the new one just could be a little bit more indian, i would prefer it. I think people will also be able to relate to it better if it was indianised a bit more...there may be feelings of detachment from the new show, if people don't think they can relate etc etc

I seems that Ekta kapoor has not done much research on Mahabharat before making n on ancient Indian architecture. In Mahabharat there is mention of fav colors, gems n dressing style of different characters.

Why we copy west? Will they copy us if they make film on their mythos or epics? but we shamelessly copy them. it seems that Ekta don't have confidence on Indian culture

i think the mahabharatians were chandravanshi and not suryavanshi.

then why does shantanu have the sun god picture on his clothes.

i think that ramayan was in the suryavanshi yug.
