Rishi Kapoor goes against type; plays a villain in Kal Kissne Dekha

Suddenly, Rishi Kapoor is everywhere. After playing God in Kunal Kohli's Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic, he has just finished shooting with Saif Ali Khan and Deepa Padukone in London for Imtiaz Ali's film.

And now Rishi Kapoor is in South Africa to play a very unusual part in Vashu Bhagnani's Kal Kissne Dekha, which is the launch film for the producer's son, Jackie.

Contrary to his image, Rishi plays a villain in Bhagnanis' film. Although Rishi played a murderer in the whodunit Khoj, he has never played an out-and-out villain before.

Speaking from Durban, producer Vashu Bhagnani says, "Rishiji has never acted in any of my films.

What's even more surprising is that he plays a villain in my film. First my director Vivek Sharma narrated the script to Rishi and convinced him to do the role after which I met him. He was on board after meeting us."

Rishi will be seen in an entirely new look in Kal Kissne Dekha.

"We've given him a typical salt-and-pepper hairstyle with the hair unevenly cut to fall on one shoulder. And we've completely changed his look and clothes. Rishiji is looking deadly.

And if people adored him as hero they'll hate him as a villain," adds Bhagnani.

Vashu's son Jackie says, "I was nervous about facing the camera with Mr Rishi Kapoor in my very first film. But he went out of his way to put me at ease."
