::::: Heer Mann: A quiet, sensible girl who can do anything for her family and lives for them. She is a lawyer by profession and visits Ludhiana frequently for her cases but resides in Ambala with her family. Beautiful, calm and practical; she has been waiting for Prem, the guy whom her marriage had been fixed with years ago.
::::: Meher Mann: A talkative, bubbly and good-natured girl whose favorite things to do are talking, eating, spending time with her sister and friends, and arguing. Her attention span doesn't even last for a second. Her parents joke that her getting married will probably be the biggest miracle of the world. Unknown to them, she gets quite hurt by this frequent joke as she believes in true love. (Plus, imagine a thinner Meher. No offence, I love the girl who is playing Meher at the moment but she needs to be better looking in order for her own love story to start.) *Edit* Imagine Prachi Desai with long hair in a braid, please! Meher hasn't let her hair down yet!
::::: Balraj and Teji Mann: Loving parents whose worlds are centered around their daughters. Balraj has been waiting for his friend, Lalit, to come and take Heer as his daughter-in-law and has begun to lose hope but Teji remains steadfast and knows that Lalit and Prem will come through.
::::: Daljeet and Balwant Mann: Daljeet is a woman whose biggest worries are to look beautiful and to get her daughter married in a wealthy family while Balwant is a true joru-ka-gulam and worships the ground Daljeet walks on.
::::: Ashlesha Mann: Ash is a self centered woman and thinks she is the Queen of Ludhiana. Unlike her mother, she's good at heart and respects her Taoji's family.
::::: Prem Juneja: A handsome, confident though shy young man who idolizes his parents. His siblings look up to him and he is the apple of his mother's eye. He believes in true love and that a girl has been made for him and is waiting somewhere out there. Girls want him because of his looks and fame but Heer falls in love with his straightforwardness and to the point character.
::::: Preet Juneja: The opposite of Prem who believes he is God's gift to women. Preet is a mischievous prankster who loves to wind his father up. Preet looks up to Prem but tries to get his older brother loosen up quite a lot. Upon reaching India, he is annoyed to always have Meher arguing with him and Ashlesha flirting with him.
::::: Veera Juneja: A spoilt brat who nearly always gets what she wants. Veera is a teenager whose main interests are shopping and partying. She is annoyed to have been taking away from her free lifestyle because of the visit to India. Upon reaching India, she immediately takes a liking to Heer and Meher.
::::: Kulraj Malhotra: Kulraj is the Juneja siblings' elder sister. She is married and has three kids; Tanu, Shekhar and Shruti. Kulraj is an affectionate and family loving woman and is very fond of her younger sister and brothers.
::::: Lalit and Gayatri Juneja: Lalit is an ambitious man who moved to Canada in search of a better life. But he never forgot India and his best friend, whom he made a promise with. Gayatri is a sweet lady, who never raises her voice. She is a favorite among children and her own kids love her very much.
::::: Shubh Chopra: Meher?s best friend and partner-in-crime. The two are very close; people sometimes mistake them for a couple. Shubh moved to USA three months ago, causing Meher to miss him very much. He returns for his other friend; Soni's wedding and attends Heer's wedding as well. He's handsome, mischievous and teasing Meher is one of his favorite past times.
::::: Soni Mathur: Soni is Meher's best girlfriend. Shubh returns to India for her wedding, and she tries to play matchmaker for Meher, but can't decide who to match her up with.
Part 1
Lalit Juneja looked out of his window thoughtfully. It was a beautiful starry night in the city of Toronto, Canada where he resided with his family.
Lalit was thinking of his best friend, whom he had left behind in Ambala, India. Balraaj Maan had been his best friend, brother, and above all, his father. Lalit hadn't seen Balraaj for eighteen years but he was comforted by the thought that he would be reaching India soon, to fulfill the promise he had made all those years ago.
Just then, a hand on his shoulder shook him out of his reverie. He turned around and saw his wife, Gayatri smiling at him.
"It's time for you to take your medicine," she told him.
Lalit nodded and sat down on his armchair. Gayatri handed him a glass of water and some tablets.
"Aap kiya soch rahe the?" she asked.
Lalit heaved a great sigh. "Balraaj ke bare mein. Gayatri mein chata hoon ke hum India jald se jald waapas chale jayein."
Gayatri beamed. "Ye kitni achi baat hogi. Mein bhi yehi chati hoon."
Lalit nodded. "Lekin jis maksad se hum waapas ja rahe hein kiya woh Prem poora kar payega?"
Gayatri smiled fondly as her favorite son was mentioned. "Prem aapki koi baat nahintaale ga lekin acha hoga agar hum uski razamandi le lein to."
Lalit nodded in agreement. He was thinking of the promise he had made to Balraaj, a promise which would turn their friendship into a relationship. The promise which would decide the destiny of their children; his son, Prem and Balraaj's daughter Heer. A marriage which would tie their families, their parivaar together.

There was chaos in the Juneja household throughout the week as the family prepared to leave for India. Gayatri hustled and bustled around everyone, trying to get the packing done and also, get enough presents for the Mann family to show how much love was their in the hearts of the Junejas.
Veera, the youngest daughter of Lalit and Gayatri was busy sulking as she was going to miss quite a lot of trips with her friends because of the return to India and couldn't believe that her father was actually making her miss all the fun. She had always gotten her way but this time Lalit was quite adamant on making all of his children visit their birthplace and homeland; India. No amount of whining would make him change his mind.
"But, Dad!" Veera moaned.
"No buts, Veera! Hum India jaa rahe hein to jaa rahe hein!" Lalit snapped as the family had dinner on a Sunday evening. "Ye Prem bhi kahan reh gaya hai? Uski flight to ab tak pohanch jaani chahiye thi."
Preet, the youngest son, couldn't help humoring his father. "Dad, PB to abhi pohanche hoge. Unke paas magic powers thori na hain ke who forun hi ghar aajaye."
"Tu chup kar, Preet!" Lalit said, glaring at his mischievous son. He muttered to himself. "Prem ki to shaadi honi hi hai, lekin sab se pehle is ke ek larki dhoondo ga take meri jaan khana band kare."
"Did you say something, Dad?" Preet inquired.
Gayatri hit Preet's head lightly. "?Apne Dad go chen se khaana khane de, Preet."
Preet shrugged. "Whatever you say, Mom."
Just then, it seemed like there was a circus at the entrance of the Juneja's house. Two kids ran in the main door, screaming and shouting with a young man following behind, a small girl in his arms.
"Whoa, whoa! Tanu, Shekhar, get back here!" the young man called out, massaging his neck with one hand.
Gayatri gave a cry of surprise and stepped forward. The oldest girl, who was about five, ran to her and gave her a hug. "Nani!"
"Tanu beta! Shekhar! Prem, beta, kaise ho? Trip kaisi rahi? Kulraj kahan hai? Damad ji bhi aaye hain?" Gayatri asked all the questions all at once.
Prem laughed. "Maa, main theek hoon, trip bhi bohat achi thi. Woh rahi Kulraj di," he gestured behind him where a smiling young woman stood.
There was absolute chaos as the whole family hugged each other, raised voices tried to talk, there were explanations and jokes, and laughs and smiles. Such was a normal day at the Junejas.
Later, after everyone had dinner, the whole family sat in the living room. Lalit wanted to discuss the trip back to India with everyone.
"Does anyone have a problem, except Veera?" Lalit inquired as he accepted a cup of tea from his wife.
Veera pouted, while the rest laughed.
There was a chorus of 'no's. No one minded returning to their homeland.
After some time of comfortable conversations, Kulraj stood up and announced that she would go and get her kids to sleep. "It's been a long day for them. Hum waise aap log ko alvida kehne hi to aaye the."
Gayatri looked at her eldest daughter. "Agar tum bhi saath aati Kulraj . . . ?"
Kulraj smiled. "Abhi nahi Maa. Aap log wahan ja kar settle hoyi. Prem ki shaadi ke bare mein kiya hota hai mujhey bataye ga, phir mein dekhoon gi."
Nearly everyone looked up in shock. Prem's wedding?
"PB ki shaadi?" Preet asked in amazement.
Kulraj bit her lip as she realized her mistake. It was obvious that her parents hadn't told her siblings about the Prem's alliance. More importantly, she reflected, Prem didn't know. His face had two emotions displayed on it; amusement at Preet?s expression and surprise.
"Mein chalti hoon. Tanu ko bohat neend aa rahi hai," she said quickly to escape the scene. She picked up Shruti, her youngest daughter, and began to lead the other two away.
"Dad! Kulraj di kiya keh rahi thi? PB ki shaadi ka decision kab se howa?" Preet asked with a bemused expression.
"Yeah, Dad! Prem bhaiya is getting married? Since when? I mean, how ?" Veera chimed in but was cut off by Lalit.
"Preet, Veera, your mother and I would like to talk with Prem alone. So please leave us," he announced.
"But Dad ?" Preet said but was stopped by his brother nodding at him encouragingly. He sighed and got up. "PB, you're telling me everything later."
Prem smiled at him. "Ab tu ja, Preet, main tujhey sab kuch bata doon ga."
After Veera and Preet had exited the room, Prem seated himself on the carpeted floor next to the chair his father was occupying. Gayatri smiled at him softly and Lalit started to speak.
Plus, no Harman and Vishaka in my FF!! Hate those two! 🤢 Hope u all like the first prt! i ll post the second one soon if i get enough comments! 😛
