Trust is something which is so very imp. in life it takes years to build it and in a flash can be broken.

Focusing on broken elders say with time trust can be re-built I kinna think no there is no 100% surety, makes me say trust broken once is viable to be broken again. Give your own thoughts and circumstance and make a call on agreement or disagreements.

Trust is something once it is broken it is gone for good. One can give 2nd chance and try to gain that trust back but a very tough road...... 😳

i agree..trust once broken cannot be brought back easily. you can give somebody a second chance but somewhere down the line..you would think twice before doing that!

Looks like I'm the only one that is different, as usual....

It is not the degree of trust, but the degree of betrayal.....

You need to differentiate because trust is sometimes misrepresented as "too - high" expectations. In this case - it may be reasonable to assume they will be broken - but is it the breaker's fault???

Contrast that with some things that most may consider "minor" but seem major to you at the time....is it really a big deal or are you overreacting??

Finally, those acts which when committed are so grave and/or impacting that you could never be the same, i.e infidelity etc...

The relationship between the truster and trusted is an important factor......

Society is agreeable of parents giving their children another chance if they have wronged.......less understanding of someone who may have forgiven their kidnapper, or the murderer of a loved one for example, though these often exist.

I like your stand here, MMG, but I feel no matter how severe or mild the breach of trust is and no matter with whom it happened, one tends to get a tad bit more careful going forward with the person who broke it in the firts place.

I personally believe in keeping the lesson but losing the experience. This enables me in giving the "breacher" a second chance but forces me to keep my guard on at the same time....once bitten, twice shy...I guess.

I agree with you...

For me trust if broken once, then it cannot rejoin again...

Second chance is in my dictionary but I wont be able to trust that person again...

I've been in this kind of situation several times. I agree that once the trust is lost, it's really hard to gain trust back on the same person. Trusting strangers can be a little scary experience as there are some strangers who break the trust very quite easily.
I think when one shows the other person of how much they can trust him/her, than trust automatically comes back.
it's never a guarantee that the trust comes back but if the same person keeps breaking the trust over and over again and again than that's a difficult situation to deal with. I'm actually experiencing this situation again.
I understand that it gets really annoying when the trust breaks.
