After the success of Aamir, actor Rajeev Khandelwal has moved on to his second film. It is called Peter Gaya Kaam Se and is being directed by John Owen, an India based British filmmaker.
The actor, who had received a lot of critical acclaim for his role in his debut venture, is now working in a second movie, produced by UTV's production house called Spotboy. Khandelwal will be paired opposite model turned actress Mugdha Godse, who is fresh from success of Madhur Bhandarkar's Fashion. Apparently, the makers of the film were on the lookout for a heroine for quite a few months. This led them to delay the project from August to November, when they finally settled on Godse. Peter Gaya Kaam Se is said to be a love story set in Goa. The film has Khandelwal, who plays the role of Peter mentioned in the title, plays a bike rider in the film, while Godse will be playing a tourist. Meanwhile, Khandelwal's former lover, Aamna Sharif and current boyfriend Aftab Shivdasani are working together in Robby Grewal's Aloo Chaat and have plans to produce another film starring the two together. It will mark Aftab's debut as producer and is said to be inspired by Tom Hanks' Big, which was directed by Penny Marshall. Portions of the film have already been shot. It is being directed by Glenn Barretto of the Glenn Ankush duo and is called Sab Se Peeche Hum Khade.

Rajeev Gaya Kaam Se!
Padma Iyer [June 17, 2008, 3:37:50 PM]
These days are the best for Rajeev Khandelwal to climb on cloud nine. Why? The blue-eyed television actor is yet not out of his Aamir hangover and has grabbed a second film in his quest to capture Bollywood. The perfection and acting ability with which Rajeev got under the skin of his character of Aamir was enough to predict his vivid future in the industry. And it's now proved with the offer of one more film by the same production house.
The film, signed with UTV Spot Boy, which was the house to produce Aamir, is a love story titled as Peter Gaya Kaam Se, which will be directed by John Owen, the India-based British filmmaker.
The boy looks quite excited while confirming the news. 'Yes, my second film is a love story set in Goa. The film is titled Peter Gaya Kaam Se and I play the role of Peter,' smiles Peter, oops, Rajeev. Further explaining the character, the actor adds, 'My character is that of a taxi bike rider. These are people who drive tourists on their bikes in and around Goa.'
Being quizzed to say a little more about the film, Rajeev says, 'We plan to shoot in Goa after the monsoon, some time in August. The female lead is yet to be finalized. It's not yet certain if it would be a fresh face or a known name. However, I would like a fresh face since it brings in fresh chemistry. But the decision stays with my producer and director.'
Hmmm, it seems the fresh experience of facing 35 mm has nurtured the fresh idea of getting fresh with a new face only! Not bad, as long as audiences feel fresh with Rajeev, sorry, Peter Gaya Kaam Se.

Rajeev's pilot project
Rajeev Khandelwal will play a taxi bike rider, commonly called a pilot, in his next film | Back to Section Stories Posted On Thursday, June 12, 2008 | |
Subhash K Jha | Immediately after the critical acclaim of Aamir, Rajeev Khandelwal is keen to push the envelope. In his next film tentatively titled Peter Gaya Kaam Se, Rajiv plays a happy-go-lucky taxi bike rider (known as pilots) based in Goa.
UTV Spotboy's COO Vikas Behl, who also supervised Aamir, is gung-ho about the new project. 'Although we did expect Aamir to appeal to a certain section of the audience, we didn't imagine that the film will be well-received by everyone.
This time again, we (Rajeev and UTV Spotboy) are determined to make a film that pushes the envelope. Our next project Peter Gaya Kaam Se will show Rajeev in a lighter vein. However, Peter is not an easy character to portray. In fact it's a tougher role than what Rajeev played in Aamir.'
The film will go on the floors after monsoons as that's when Goa looks its best and the film's canvas will capture the bright green natural surroundings.
For his role, Rajeev is all set to learn to ride the two-wheelers that run in Goa. He says, 'I'll be learning to ride the taxi bike. Since we're shooting the film entirely in Goa I will have to learn how to ride it so that it looks authentic.
I better be good at winding my way through those steep roads. However, for me, the most interesting aspect about Peter Gaya Kaam Se right after Aamir is that I go from being a Muslim to a Christian.'
The film will be directed by an India-based British filmmaker John Owen. Vikas Behl says, 'John has been doing excellent work for music channels. I instinctively knew that he was the right person for this project, just as we knew Rajkumar Gupta was the right person to direct Aamir."
Currently, the hunt is on for Rajeev's leading lady in Peter Gaya Kaam Se. In all probability it will be a new face. | ____________________________________________________________ ________________ Forget Aamir Now Rajiv is Peter | | | Bollywood Reporter | Written by Pujari | Friday, 13 June 2008 | src="http://bugleinteractive.com/ads/www/delivery/ag.php" type=text/javascript>

Next Big Thing: Rajeev is ready to rock B'wood

WINNING STREAK: Despite the risks, Aamir managed to impress both the audiences and the critics.
He was a superstar on the small screen but Rajeev Khandelwal decided to quit all that, for a film that was termed unconventional. Since he is one actor who thinks that right choices makes all the difference, and because he's one of the best debutants this year, we think Rajeev Khandelwal is the Next Big Thing.
'Every individual writes his own destiny,' says Rajeev and that has been the motto of the actor's life.
The 31-year-old was born and brought up in Jaipur. He moved to Delhi, started out as a production assistant, wrote over 30 documentaries, tried producing serials and then in 2002 came to Mumbai to try his luck in acting.
After few modelling assignments, he was signed on for television soap Kahin To Hoga, and within weeks of the show going on air he became a household name as the lover boy Sujal.
But then Sujal gave up all that after four years, to move to the big screen with Aamir, a transition where many have failed.
'The same people who thought that it would not be possible to jump from TV to film, met me outside the theatre and told me they knew I was the one. These guys planted so many doubts in me. The same people when they were approached to produce the film said let's go for a new cast and not from TV,' says Rajeev.
Aamir was neither a conventional love story nor an action flick, moreover it released with a biggie like Sarkar Raj.
Despite the risks, this Rs 2-crore film managed to impress both the audiences and the critics. And now Rajeev has more offers than he can handle. His next will be UTV Spotboy's Peter Gaya Kaam Se, besides which he has also signed Onir's adaptation of Hamlet and Tanuja Chandra's next film.
'I know the same people who are praising me and are appreciating my work are waiting to rip me apart in my next film. That's how it works. But I am trying my level best that I don't give a chance to anyone to think that it was beginner's luck,' says Rajeev.
And here's a tip from the man who did it without any formal training in acting or a godfather.
'I was backed with confidence, conviction and a great script. And trust me the backing that a great script and the right intentions give even a Rs 50-crore drama can't give,' says Rajeev.
