Aaj Tak report - Much ado about nothing

What was the purpose of the Aaj Tak report on bold scenes on Indian television? I am not liking all this focus on how bold KYM is. I have seen bolder scenes in other shows on T.V. Why the reality dance shows shown during prime time are far more bold and seductive than any scene on KYM which is a late night show. The second SR in KYM cannot be called 'bold' by any stretch of imagination. The 'kissing' scene too was so badly shot one can clearly make out that the couple were not 'making out'. I hope such hype over the so-called bold scenes do not serve to reduce them in future. I sure want to see more of Michi, not less.

And why did they take so long to show this 'news'? For a news channel that calls iteself "Aaj Tak - Sabse Tez" it really is'nt as 'tez' as it claims to be, is it? Shabbo seems to have given this interview sometime in the first week of June when the MA wedding was being shot (going by his dress). The 'kissing' scene was shot more than a month back. What was the 'news' channel doing all this while? Were they waiting for the second SR scene (which by the way was clearly 'U' rated in my view) to add to their segment to make it 'hot'?

I found the comment that the couples were displaying their love through their gazes mundane. What did they want? Everytime they have to show a romantic scene they should get two flowers grazing each other or a bee circling a flower? Which world and age are these guys living in? Clearly they seem to have no news worth reporting.

An aside:

Shabbir seems to be trying to make a point by using his co-stars' screen names rather than the real names. Even in the SPA rehearsal he referred to Panchi as Prachi. Maybe he wants to show that they are just playing their roles. But is'nt it funny that when he uttered Ayesha's name, it immediately popped out, whereas he had to stammer out Prachi's name after a significant pause? Now, Mr.Ahluwalia, are you always tongue-tied when it comes to Prachi?

Opti I too feel threatened by that stupid report on Aaj Tak, why the sole emphasis on Michi I think they haven't seen other BT serials yet. And the other serial scene they showed was much bolder than Michi scenes. Michi just eye locked and that non happening kiss was focused so crudely. The SR was hardly worth mentioning how about shifting the change on the recent Samar Gauri consumation or Karan Nandini wedding scenario. It really was much ado about nothing I hope KYM retains it's fresh appeal to Michi and continues giving us more of Michi scenes.

thx 4 the wonderful post opti. i completely agree with you. first of all, could not really understand why they mentioned michi scenes as bold ones 😕 whereas i too have scenes much bolder scenes in other T.V shows. i just hope these types of media news does not affect our michi magic.

yes, i too have felt that whenever shabbir has to talk about prachi, he is a bit apprehensive in taking her name 😕 😕. god only knows what's brewing between both of them 😊 😊

yes opti even i was wondering what bold scenes were they talking about and why only kayamath was the focus...when these two had the passionate first suhaagraat ,there was no ado at all, whereas the second was sooo romantic not bold and we have a nearly 10 minute coverage on that...including the kissing scene.....yes the interview of shabbo was from the episode he was going to marry ayesha they showed shots of his marriage scene too......

opti the other day i saw on zee while surfing there also they were showing a suhaagrat scene on afternoon slot on the song bahoon ke darmiyaan,KAA also showed a very bold SR none of these serials were mentioned

edited that part maybe he was asked abt his scenes with ayesha and prachi...

the confusing part was shabbir said that the kissing scene was beautifully shot and we have a article claiming it was air kissing

Opti, while I think you are right that KYM cannot be singled out amongst the other shows on TV for its so called bold scenes, I am generally perturbed by the innuendos in all these shows. I would rather some sensible romantic scenes than being subjected to badly shot scenes that strongly remind me of a 80s rape or love scene.

As a side, the camera and replay angles on most of these shows can give a person a headache even if he/she is not suffering one. Showing repetitive mug shots of all the characters in a room does not make the story move.

Again, I really believe that scrutiny can make one self-conscious. All these rumours and media coverage about Shabbir and Panchi ought to have made shabbir self conscious, hence the hesitation. In my opinion that is after all human. How can one read more into that?

Saju, I dont think he was asked about the 'kissing' scene alone. I think he was asked what he felt enacting intimate scenes. They never showed the interviewer ask the question, only his response. Anyway to me that 'kissing' scene was anything but beautiful. It was amateurishly shot to say the least.

As they kept on replaying that shot in the report, I felt thoroughly irritated. There are far more vulgar scenes being shown on T.V. to really focus your attention on, guys. Why dont you take your cameras and crew to the skimpily dressed dancers of some reality shows who literally slide over their partners and interview them instead if you really want to talk about the 'bold' approach of Indian T.V.?

opti that guy is a seasoned actor who has been in the industry for quite sometime and sure this is not his first intimate scene, instead they shld have asked jay if not the ladies abt it or they shld have asked numerous other stars from different shows who all have done it ,why milind......they actually said milind ka pehla kiss and then showed the segment on kayamath.......yes you are right why do they not go to those reality shows and the rest rather than fous on a 11 slot show that is supposed to be a love story ,as such the only thing worth watching in the show is their romance minus the bds thankfully

SF, I am not reading anything into Shabbo's statement. I just put that in a lighter vien. As you said he must have got self-conscious about all the media speculation. All the more reason I am not liking this focused attention on KYM. Why spoil the spontaneity with which the actors are currently enacting their scenes by making issues out of non-issues?

Yeah, I dont like the mug shots or the flashing lights being shown in some shows anytime something dangerous or romantic is supposed to be shown. These are just time wasting tactics.

By the way did anyone else feel that the sound recording quality in KYM has deteriorated considerably in the last week or so. Even the sound recording during the SR sequence was very bad.

Saju, if they said it was Milind's first kiss, then they clearly have not watched the show from the start. All the more reason they should not be giving a distorted report on a show they are not even watching.

opti while showing the coming up section they mentioned milind ka pehla kiss, prachi yani bani ka pehla crush...hence i thought they were going to interview shabbir on his firsts ...but when i saw the report i was they clearly have no idea what transpired on kayamath on oct 15th.....or the report was saying something and showing something 😕
