I really liked it. Also, Anna's liberal thoughts to his kids are commanding. The way after knowing good news is not the good news he was thinking. The way he told her that it would be their life and has to be their decision about starting the family. Many Indian families do expect grandchild as soon as marriage happens. 
That too a male child. The contrast shown rich controlling male dominating family where education is just for a status vs lower middle class family who values education and dream and stick together in their thick and thin obviously exception is aatya and Datta kaaka.
yes Anna's character s well written.he even told avni that he wud respect any of his dils decision to not have kids 👌👌.he was a very good husband too .it shows from his behaviour with females be it avni ,nami or payal .he behaves very respectfully with them n he has raised his kids that way too.
