He should have been rational and forgiving himself after Ganga's death. Though he doesn't want to confront or be with nadia, atleast he could have the relationship with his new born. The aftermath of nadia demise is the price he paid for not being rational in his decision

I am glad that you used the term " forgive himself"..

You know the cruellest irony is Raya thought suffering is the same thing as taking responsibility.

After Ganga's death, staying away from Nadia and his child felt, to him, like the only punishment he deserved. He denied himself the life he wanted because somewhere inside he believed, "After what happened, how can I allow myself happiness?"

But punishment didn't undo harm.And in his case, it created new harm.

By withdrawing, he didn't only punish himself. He also took away Nadia's chance to heal with him, and his child's chance to grow up with his father.

That's what makes Raya's guilt so tragic.. it became almost narcissistic in its own painful way. He was so consumed by what he had done, what he deserved, and how he must suffer that he lost sight of what the people he loved might actually need from him...

Infact it is perhaps the most heartbreaking lesson of Raya's story ..

Forgiving yourself isn't always selfish. Sometimes refusing to forgive yourself is another form of selfishness because the punishment doesn't end with you. It falls on everyone who loves you too. 💔

Kiara didn't just look like Nadia. She understood the contradictions inside her and conveyed it to us right from her entry.Hot, fearless, self-respecting, playful, loving, heartbreakingly vulnerable,wounded, maternal, devastated..she was all in the same movie as same character in such limited screen time....And she managed to communicate so much of that with very little dialogue...

This song was Kiara Advani show in all ways...She ate and left no crumbs..🔥🔥

Okay....I was waiting for this English version of this song ever since I had heard it....This version had made me hooked tbh...

Both Yash and Kaira are looking like two characters straight out of a novel...Yash with that brooding masculinity with those deep sad eyes and Kiara as this dainty , feminine, graceful woman...

Not her entry in the movie...As in the movie began from her scene and then we went to flashback..but it is her entry in person into the world of Raya...her introduction to Raya in the flashback...

Before it her character was mentioned in the form of a poster as the lead star of the circus to Raya...

It is her proper entry...

Also now when you know the context of the movie wrt Raya and Nadia....

If you look at the song "Love is just a game" from that perspective you will realise that in this song they have portrayed both Raya and Nadia as "Moth and flame ."in order to explain their attraction which is both beautiful and inherently dangerous. I mean, just look at the attire of both ..Raya in brown ,grey ..and Nadia in this hot sensuous red shade..🔥

Raya is the moth, drawn almost instinctively toward Nadia's flame. His entire life has been darkness, violence, guilt and survival. Then Nadia enters it carrying something completely different: warmth, tenderness, freedom, self-respect. Around her, he discovers a version of himself he actually likes.The man he could become if he ever stepped outside his darkness.

And Nadia is the flame,She doesn't call him toward her. She simply burns. Raya chooses to come closer because he is starved for the light she represents.

Also the moth-and-flame metaphor has an inevitable tragedy.

A moth can be mesmerised by a flame without understanding that getting closer can destroy it.

He knew who Nadia is,how is she as a person and how his world can contaminate hers ..yet When he found something so beautiful, he moved toward it with the same intensity with which he has approached everything else in his life.

Nadia, meanwhile, is eventually burned too.

She was the flame that showed him how dark his life had been.

And once you've seen that light, going back to darkness becomes almost unbearable...That explains how Raya was burning in separation...

That's why even their limited moments together feel so intense.

The moth doesn't need years with the flame.

Sometimes seeing the light once is enough to spend the rest of your life yearning for it. 💔

That's what Raya also did... He couldn't move beyond Nadia till the end of his life....
