This is exactly how I feel

We needed more time with these characters

The beginning messed up - Nadia died and Raya killed his son

People are going to watch story of father and son bond

You just don't invest in characters when you know there's nothing

I don't think so because Ganga was intelligent, Ganga dying at Nadia's hand ruined Raya's world, the only thing left was the crime boss what Ganga wanted him to be so she got what she wanted for him

Raya would never go to someone who killed his sister, she wanted him away from Nadia and it happened

Ganga dying at Nadia's hands closed all the door for their relationship

Intersting perspective and fair enough....

You know, the silver lining of films that are psychologically layered and don't spoon-feed you every answer is that they leave lots of room for interpretation.

The same incident can mean completely different things to different people, and yet none of those perspectives necessarily has to be wrong.

You can look at a character's choice one way, someone else can see an entirely different motivation behind it, and both readings can coexist...

As long as films like Toxic exists ..film that is flawed yet give you so much to unpack, discuss and interpret..I'll take that over a bland, forgettable affair any day.

However, her hopes are completely shattered when ticket, violently crashes their christmas party. she watches raya completely freeze and unravel makes melissa realize the truth no matter how much love she gives him, raya is mentally trapped by his old guilt and can never move forward... realizing his dangerous past will eventually destroy their son, she packs her bags and leaves him which makes raya more dangerous..

Yeah...Melissa actually gets a version of Raya that has already been devastated by life...

Mellisa thought he could start over with her..

But Raya had never really healed, so he cannot truly begin again. His past was still living inside him. The guilt over Ganga,Nadia and Ticket hadn't disappeared; he had simply learned to carry it.

And then Melissa gave birth to their son, Adam, on the very day Raya's past comes crashing back into his present.

Just when Raya is given another chance at fatherhood, the ghost of the son he lost returns to destroy the life he had begun to built...

And that is the pattern of Raya's life.He keeps trying to build something new without ever truly dealing with what came before...

And Adam becomes the final test of whether Raya can finally choose fatherhood over the violence that has defined him....He obviously couldn't..And Mellisa did what any mother would do...

Indian audience can forgive anything but not a father murdering his own minor child......This movie was bound to fail with that as the crux of the story.....

Sorry to say, he didn't murder his kid.. not able to save his kid and the inner guilt and trauma of losing his loved ones the film is all about that.. somebody mentioned talaash reference.. even I can relate to that . Amir khan suffering for his kids death because of his inability to save him.. same thing can said for this film

But Raya didn't deliberately murder his son. He was drunk, emotionally shattered and involved in a tragic accident wrt his son. He infact jumped into the water after him the moment he realised what had happened. His immediate instinct is still the same instinct that has governed his entire life.."save the person you love, even if it costs you your own life." He tried to save Ticket and failed. The real Ticket died in that accident, and Raya's mind couldn't accept what had happened...

His "crime" was negligence and the failure to protect his son but He himself spent years punishing himself as though he murdered everyone..

He wasn't a murderer haunted by his victim. He was a father haunted by the child he couldn't save.
