But also, her fear of being left homeless apart, Taiji saying she didn't want to be left stranded so she channeled her paedo husband's anger and disgust on the poor little victim who was a child and piled on her already wrecked emotional state!!!
I don't condone their behaviour. Not one bit.
But I can understand it to some extent. And this comes from chatting with someone at work a few years back who was in her late 70s. See, in most countries (India included), women didn't have the right to vote, own property, have their bank accounts, etc. until the 1950s or 1960s. Even after they got the rights, it wasn't an immediate change. This woman told me that she was the first woman in her town to move to a big city and take on a job in the 1980s. And she was still judged for that. Many of her townspeople would whisper behind her back when she would go back home. And I'm talking about a country where typically you think society doesn't "care" about your so-called "honour".
Before that, even though women had started voting, they still were homemakers where the husbands managed everything. Thus, to some extent, Taiji and Mataji both were stuck in that generation where they still relied on their husbands for everything.
But that's about all I can accept. Mataji and Taiji telling Soumya to keep quiet because izzat ki baat hai and then Taiji piling on more emotional damage is unforgivable. At least Mataji tried to support Soumya and protect her from her father's anger (who literally didn't know what was going on). Taiji couldn't even do that. Instead she added insult to injury with her taunts and baseless accusations.
And now both ladies' roles may be overlooked once Soumya reveals the truth. They'll play the sad women and Soumya won't say anything. I wonder if Tauji will.
Exactly!! Khud ke beghar hone ka darr tho chalo maan bhi lete hain!! But everything after that was just pure malice!!! I mean husband ke mistress pe gussa samajh aata hai.. I can even understand Jeet's step mother's hatred for him!! But this?? Taking out your misplaced sense of shame and anger on a child and continually for the next few years is just a different level of horrible!! Absolutely no sympathy for taiji

Soumya was a 10 year old kid. Even though she understood that Tauji had done wrong with her, she had no say in it. She couldn't understand what to do. She did the sensible thing and complained to her mother. And what does her mother do? Tell her to keep quiet.
Imagine how different Soumya could have been if her mother and Taiji had supported her and thrown Tauji in jail immediately.
Jeet is the most sensible person in the show right now

Roop is the main culprit. The one who will be sentenced by court and who should be ostracized from the society.
But our 2 lovely ladies deserve to be ostracized from the family. I really want the fact that they both knew and kept quiet and, on top of that, taunted Saumya to come out in front of Krish and Anoop. Both need to know this truth as well.
