Just saw the movie .Toxic is an uneven cinematic experience, shifting between genuinely engaging sequences and stretches that struggle to maintain momentum. The first half is relatively taut and moves at a brisk pace, making it an easy watch. However, the narrative loses some of its momentum in the latter half, which feels considerably more prolonged. The film manages to regain its footing towards the end, with an emotionally impactful climax that gives the story a much-needed lift and prevents it from becoming a complete misfire.
Yash is commanding in the lead role, bringing tremendous screen presence and intensity to the character. His larger-than-life persona remains one of the film's defining strengths, and he effortlessly dominates the frame whenever he appears.
Among the female leads, Kiara Advani makes the strongest impression. She brings an unexpected freshness to her role and delivers a confident, nuanced performance. More importantly, her character serves as the emotional anchor of the narrative, adding depth and poignancy to the proceedings.
Despite its impressive scale and considerable expectations, Toxic does not entirely live up to its potential. The film occasionally struggles with pacing and fails to consistently match the ambition of its premise. Nevertheless, its lavish presentation, Yash's magnetic screen presence, and an emotionally resonant climax give it enough substance to avoid being dismissed outright.
Overall an ambitious film that falls short of greatness but manages to leave an impression.
