Well, to be more precise, the movie has an Indian Muslim hero who decided - for security reasons - to leave his home to go to a place he felt safer for his family... he still had the values of an Indian Muslim man...

One should not forget that -at that time - Pakistan wasn't already the state it became...

Anyone who speak or are in favour of anything remotely bjp will get cancelled by a certain community. They are following cancel culture since long time and shamelessly talking about boycott.

Even if there is a boycott by RW, it is by a very few number of RW members. On the other hand cancel culture and boycott is followed by almost every member of the 6th century religion.

What are you talking ? What is the population of hindus in Pakistan now and What is the population of Muslems in India now ?

Relative to the movie, I don't know yet, but historically, the state of Pakistan immediately following its founding in August 1947 was characterized by an administrative chaos, extreme escalation of violence, the refugee crisis, and massive economic difficulties (among others). For example, Jinnah wanted a state for Muslims, but not an Islamic one... he explicitly emphasized that all religions should have equal status in the new state and that religion was a private matter (secular state). When Jinnah died already in September 1948 and the then PM got assassinated in 1951, the new state lost the most important democratic leaders. The then constantly changing governments couldn't manage even a lasting constitution which led to the military coup (Ayub Khan, 1958).

If you want more details, I can give them but one can also find them on the Net... what I know myself, is only through reading and documentaries... I don't know personally someone who lived the partition time. There is also Deepa Metha's movie with Aamir (the 2nd one of her trilogy), based on a novel (Ice Candy Man)...like the play on which Sunny's movie is based, it also takes place in Lahore.
