Hi, as it is weekend I am able to post update on consecutive days.

Part 4

Munni was surprised to see the same tall man from the hospital the other day, who claimed she was Seher.

Munni: You?! You came all the way here?! I told you I am not Seher.

Munni was closing the door when Mahid stopped her.

Mahid: I know you are not Seher. I am not here for you! Your husband, Yug Rathi, called us.

Just then, Sana came there too.

Dr Sana: Salam. I am Seher, and this is my colleague Mahid.

Munni: Oh, so you are that Seher that he was addressing?!

Dr Sana: Yes. We are here for research. We are doing a study on middle-class families from each state. It's a scheme. And for this state, your house was chosen.

Munni: What nonsense is this?! I never heard of this scheme.

Dr Sana: If you do not trust us here, see our ID. We will be staying here for a few days. We talked to your husband. He agreed.

Dr Sana shows her license; she had created a fake ID with the name Seher.

Munni looked at Mahid.

Munni: This Lambu Sultan will also stay here?!

Mahid chuckles. Even as another identity, she still gives him random nicknames.

Dr Sana: Yes. He is my colleague.

Yug comes there.

Yug: Good to see you both here. Come in!

Mahid: I am sorry, Mr Yug, for yesterday.

Dr Sana: Actually, it was a prank...This Mahid has a habit of attempting such pranks. He is crazy.

Munni: It didn't seem like a prank.

Yug: (laughs) Munni, this Mahid is crazy. He almost scared me. But he is a nice guy.

Munni: Nice and he?! I don't think so.

Munni doesn't buy it as she recalls how Mahid cried yesterday.

Mahid: Don't worry, you will start liking me soon.

Munni looks at him, annoyed.

Just then Maa Sa comes there,

Maa Sa: Welcome! Come in, kids. I have prepared traditional Rajasthani dishes.

Mahid and Dr Sana go in.

Maa Sa happily serves them food while they eat.

Mahid: MashAllah, your food is really tasty, Maa Sa.

Maa Sa: Eat more, dear.

Maa Sa serves Mahid more food.

Mahid stares at Munni while she looks at him, annoyed. She takes a piece of roti and feeds Yug.

Munni: Yug Jii, you love this roti with sabzi, right?!

Yug looks at Munni, confused. Mahid gets jealous seeing this.

Munni continues feeding Yug, and this makes Mahid more jealous and fuming. He clenches his hand, prepared to punch Yug. Dr Sana notices this, and she gestures to Mahid not to mess it up. Mahid controlled himself.

Later,

Munni is collecting water from the well, and just then Mahid helps her by holding the rope.

Munni: I can collect the water by myself. I won't need your help. It's light.

Mahid: Munni Jii, let me collect the water. It will help us in our research.

Munni allows him to do so, and Mahid helps him to collect water. But as he isn't used to it, the pail of water falls on him completely. And he gets drenched. Munni bursts out laughing seeing this.

Mahid recalls how Seher laughed when he slipped due to her lotion. Mahid smiles seeing this.

Munni: I told you this is not meant for you.

Mahid: That was just an accident.

Mahid tries to collect water again, and this time he purposely slips and falls on the ground. Seher laughs even more.

Seher: You will never change, Mahid. Too stubborn.

Mahid looks as Seher calls him Mahid.

Seher: I mean Mahid Jii...

Mahid: You can call me Mahid, it's fine. Will you kindly help me?!

Munni helps him, and Mahid manages to get up.

Munni: You still have a lot to learn. I doubt you will be able to stay here for long.

Mahid: What makes you think so?!

Munni: (looks from toe to his face) You look like you come from some rich family?! Tell me the truth: are you really here for that or....

Mahid: What do you think?! You think I am here for you?!

Munni: (muttering to herself) Insolent guy!

Mahid: I have heard it, Munni Jii. But I will pretend I did not hear, as I love my job!

Munni: Well, you aren't doing a great job so far! Who talks like this?!

Mahid: You will have to get used to it.

Munni: First, you get used to it. I will see how many days you will survive here.

Mahid and Munni look at each other as if they are challenging each other.

Evening,

Maher, Dr Sana and Yug are outside. They are eating street food.

Yug: Munni, you always eat spicy food! I don't know how you do it!

Munni: These pani-puris are nothing! If it wasn't for my health, I would have eaten spicier.

Yug: No one's spice tolerance is better than yours!

Mahid: Mine is better.

Munni: Lambu Sultan and having good spice tolerance?! No way!

Mahid tells the waiter to bring something. The waiter brings red chilli. Munni's eyes widen.

Munni: You are going to eat these?!

Mahid: Yes!

Mahid starts eating the red chilli. He takes one and eats it. Then he takes another. The more he takes, the more Munni gets surprised. He was struggling with the spice, but he still tolerated it! It was his 5th one.

Munni recalls how Mahid and Seher were eating chillies after they got stuck in the iced room. How it was spicy, but they ate it and laughed, looking at each other.

Munni gets teary-eyed.

Munni snatches the plate away.

Munni: That's enough. Later you will get food poisoning! And then Maa Sa will scold Yug Jii!

Mahid: See, I am an expert! I told you!

Munni: Yes, you are! Congratulations, Lal Mirchi champion, Lambu Sultan. (claps)

Mahid: I am the one who ate chilli, and you are the one who is crying?!

Yug looks at Munni.

Yug: Munni...

Munni: (wiping her tears) Something just went in my eyes. Must be because I rubbed my eyes while touching the chilli. Anyways, Yug Jii, I am not feeling well. Let's go. You both can come later.

Yug nods and goes with Munni.

Mahid starts coughing, and Dr Sana gets a glass of milk and feeds it to him.

Dr Sana: Are you crazy, Mahid?!

Mahid: I will do everything it takes to make my Seher remind her of the past! Everything!

Dr Sana is amazed to see the love Mahid has for Seher.

Yug and Munni are back home.

Munni recalls how Mahid was eating the chillies, and she gets teary-eyed.

Yug: Why don't you tell him everything? That you remember everything well?! And that you are faking your memory loss, Seher?!

Seher: No, Yug Jii! Mahid should never find out about this?! Never!

Flashback,

Seher continued with her MBBS after this marriage. The whole day she would be busy with her classes, and at night most of the time she would be studying.

Mahid himself was busy too. He would go to mosques and help the community after all. He was very active as a Mufti and was dearly loved too.

Whenever Mahid came home, he would never ask Seher to prepare dinner for him. But she would

prepare anyway whenever she could! He would first go to their room and check how she was doing. Seher, most of the time, was busy and paranoid about her assignments.

Mahid, after dinner, would quietly make the bed and sleep. Sometimes he would kiss Seher's forehead before going to sleep.

Everything was going fine in their marriage. This way, 4 years went by in a flash.

Seher was balancing her studies. He was balancing his Mufti duties. What else could go wrong?! That is what they thought, unaware of the trouble that was going to brew in their paradise.

Seher noticed that day by day, Mahid became more distant from her. In these 4 years of marriage, though they had shared kisses and hugs often, they were yet to get intimate. Sometimes Seher wanted to spend time with Mahid, especially during her holidays. But he still didn't give her time.

Mahid became more strange. Whenever Seher asked if he had dinner, sometimes he would be nice, but sometimes he would scold her.

Earlier, he would give her kisses and hugs, but gradually those stopped. He would just give a formal nod, and that's it.

This got Seher more and more worried about her marriage. As if something was wrong! Once Seher asked her what was wrong, he threw the vase at the mirror angrily, shocking her.

The other time she tried to talk to Mahid, he started throwing things around their room. His frustration increased, and so did their distance.

His tone became rude and cold, as if almost similar to the day of their first Nikkah when he held her tightly near the swimming pool.

One day,

Seher was studying, and she started yawning. Her final paper is in 2 days, and after that she will finally be done with her MBBS.

Seher: Mahid, can you bring me a cup of coffee?!

She looked around. There was no one. The room was dark. And the clock struck 2 a.m.

Where was Mahid?

Seher got up to check the washroom. He wasn't there. She then went down and walked around the big Niyazi mansion to spot Mahid. But he just wasn't there. Seher's heart started beating hard. She realised she barely gave him time in these 4 years of marriage. Was he done with her?!

She called Mahid. No response. She called again. Still no response.

Seher waited for him in the drawing room. And while waiting, she dozed off.

Next day,

Seher woke up, and she found Mahid standing in front of her, who looked confused.Mahid had a beard now.

Mahid: Seher...

Seher immediately hugged him and cried.

Seher: I am sorry, Mahid!!! I took you for granted.

Mahid: Wait?! What happened?!

Seher: Where were you the whole night?! I tried to call you; you didn't pick up?!

Mahid: There was some work, Seher! I don't have to tell you everything!

Seher: I know why?! You are done with me! It's clear from your frustrations, Mahid!!

Mahid: Seher, why are you making a small deal turn into a big deal?! I went to the hos...

Seher: I get it now. I have never kept you happy the way a normal wife would. I have been so involved in fulfilling my Ammi's wishes that I never thought about you for once! I have been nothing but a really selfish wife who never saw what her husband wanted!!!

Seher went away to her room crying. Mahid looked at her. What exactly happened?!

Mahid went back to their room, and he saw Seher packing her bag.

Mahid: Seher, what are you doing?!

Seher: I am leaving this house.

Mahid held Seher's hand to stop her

Mahid: Seher, now this is getting too much, okay! What is wrong with everyone in this house?! Fupijaan, she said something to you again, right?!

Seher: She isn't wrong, Mahid! I have noticed there has been distance between us lately. We don't talk as much as we used to. We don't hang out as much as we used to. We get more frustrated over small things!

Mahid: Seher...

Seher: Mahid, I have seen how much you bond with Kaiz, that sweet little boy. Tahir Bhaijaan's death was very unfortunate and sudden, and you have taken care of Kaiz like your own son since then. I know you want a child of your own too.

But I can't give that to you because...

Mahid is annoyed now. He talks to her rudely

Mahid: SEHER, WE HAVE ALREADY SPOKEN ABOUT THIS!! I TOLD YOU THAT I UNDERSTAND!!!

Seher: Thanks for proving my point, Mahid!! Whatever is happening is not right. You are getting more frustrated more easily. I am getting more stressed. I think it's better if we stay apart for a few days.

Seher left with the suitcase while Mahid looked on emotionally.

Seher gets out of the flashback.

Present,

Seher: As a husband, Mahid was the best. But he is a human too. Unfortunately, as a wife, I failed...

Yug: No, Seher, nothing like that! You have been great as a wife. Even as Munni...you...

Seher: Yug Jii, I know you brought Mahid here because you had no other option, as he would have gotten you arrested with the evidence. But he can't stay here for too long. We need to think of something!

Yug gets thinking.

Next day,

Mahid wakes up, and he realises it's late. Just then, he remembers today is the day Kaiz is supposed to be discharged.

Mahid calls Insha.

Insha: Mahid, Kaiz will be discharged soon.

Mahid: I am coming with Dr Sana right now.

Insha: Sana is here already. She had to come earlier as Kaiz's doctor had to leave earlier, so she talked with the doctor.

Mahid: Okay, fine. I will be there soon.

Mahid goes.

As Mahid was rushing, he noticed something, and he paused. He noticed that while Seher was collecting clothes from the rack, the blouse of her lehenga was unzipped and her stole on her head slipped.

Mahid noticed a man passing by. He immediately rushed and picked up the dupatta. He took Seher to a corner and covered Seher's back, surprising her. She felt his touch but stayed silent. He missed touching her, so he also stayed silent. There was a pinch of silence for quite some time.

Flashback,

After Seher's final paper was over, Mahid wanted to bring Seher back. But Seher wasn't picking up his calls. He went to her place, where Amaal told him that she went to Shimla on a trip with her friends, but her friends cancelled last minute, so she went alone.

Mahid knew this was the chance for him to fix everything with his Seher. He knew which hotel Seher was at. He waited for her at the lobby in the evening, and just then he spotted Seher. She was dressed in a simple white Kurta.

It was really cold in Shimla. Seher was shivering as she had both her hands wrapped around her chest, and she walked.

Just then she had a strong arm that pulled hers and took her to a corner. Admits the beautiful and sparkling chandelier of the hotel in the corner. No one else was there. It was silent.

Seher looked at Mahid, annoyed.

Seher: You came here also, Jinn Ke Bhatije?!

(Aap Yahan Bhi Aa Gaye Jinn Ke Bhatije...)

Mahid: Seher, I need to talk to you!

(Seher, Hum Aapse Baad Karne Aaye Hai.)

Seher: I don't want to talk to you!

(Humhe Apse Koyi Baad Nahi Karni Hai.)

Mahid notices Seher is shivering and covering her arms around her chest. To stop Seher from going, he used his arm around her chest.

Seher couldn't resist. He opened his jacket and put it on Seher. She closed her eyes. This was the very Mahid she fell in love with!

Mahid: (whispering in her ear) Seher, if you ever loved me...let's go and talk upstairs.

(Seher, Agar Apne Humse Kabhi Bhi Mohabbat Kiya Hai...Chaliye...Upar Jaake Baad Karte Hai.)

Seher had no choice but to listen to Mahid.

They went to the room Seher was supposed to stay in.

The atmosphere of the room was cosy, especially due to the cold weather in Shimla.

Seher: Tell me what you want to talk about, Mahid.

(Kahiye Aap Ko Kya Baat Karni Hai, Mahid.)

Mahid: Seher...I feel you are drifting apart from me. Why is it so, Seher?!

(Seher...Hume Lag Raha Hai Ke Aap Humse Dur Jaa Rahe Hai. Aisa kyun, Seher?!)

Seher: It's not me but you who are drifting apart, Mahid!! And the mistake is not even yours! Lately, we are fighting about something daily. It used to not happen, but now...

Seher looks at him.

Seher: To be honest, the mistake is mine! You did so much for me, but I...I never made you feel happy, Mahid...It was always you giving effort for my dreams...So that I study properly...I become a capable doctor...but what about your dreams, Mahid?! I can't be that selfish!

Tears start rolling from Seher's eyes.

Mahid: You know what my dream is? Becoming the Mufti was Dada Huzur's dream. The truth is I never saw any dreams until you stepped into my life.

I wish I could control my emotions, not get angry at you. I will try my best so that this never happens. The truth is, the day we got remarried that day all my dreams already got fulfilled.

This touched Seher's heart deeply. He confessed to her before. But even after 4 years, his love for her remains the same, or in fact increased even more, despite all the fights. She was overthinking that he didn't care anymore.

Seher: (crying) Why do you love me so much, Mahid...Do I deserve it?!

(Kyun Aap Humse Itna Mohabbat Karte Hai Mahid...Kya Hum Haqdaar Hai?!)

Mahid wiped her tears. He went close to kiss her. This was the first time they were this close as their nose met. But then he heard her breathe heavily.

He drifted apart, concerned due to her potential discomfort. But within a second, she pulled him close and placed her lips on his lips. It was an intense kiss.

Mahid slowly unzipped Seher's Kurta as he kissed her back, and she closed her eyes. He held her by her waist. They came closer.

Mahid made Seher lie on the bed and kissed her forehead. She caressed his face as they kissed again, as she held him by his collar and unbuttoned his shirt, and then they went on to finally consummate their marriage.

They get out of the flashback.

Present,

Seher gets teary-eyed as she recalls the event of that night. Mahid wished he had never let Seher go from his life. He whispered into Seher's ear.

Mahid: Try to recall all the beautiful memories we created in the past, please....

Tears dropped from Seher's eyes. She wiped them and turned around and looked at Mahid, to say something.

But seeing how much he is in love with her...she was silent. She looked at him emotionally. And so did he. They were very close. They had questions for each other. But it was all silent.

Maa Sa: Munni!!!

Seher and Mahid looked at Maa Sa, who looked at them, unhappy and confused.

Maa Sa: Go to the kitchen!

Seher nodded and went.

Mahid was about to go, and then Maa Sa came to him.

Maa Sa: I know you are a respectable man, Mahid. But still, stay away from my daughter-in-law.

Mahid ignored her warnings and did not want to disrespect her as she is older.

He left for the hospital.

Finally, Kaiz was discharged, and they went to the hotel.

Kaiz: Finally, I can go back home and have fun.

Mahid: Kaiz, you will need to wait for a few more days. I have some work here; then we will all go together, okay?!

Kaiz: What work?

Dr Sana: You remember you keep asking where is OG Seher?! So Dimah will bring your OG Seher back?!

Kaiz: Seher is coming back?! My OG Seher!

Insha: Yes, but in a few days. She needs time. She has some work here in Rajasthan.

Kaiz: If she is here, why didn't she come to meet me...

Insha: Seher's health is not good; that's why. Once she gets better, she will come with us!

Kaiz: Okay, got it! I will pray for Seher's well-being.

Mahid: Kaiz, you continue playing with the toys I brought for you. I have something important to talk to your Ammi and new Seher.

Kaiz: Okay.

Kaiz plays in a corner while the trio have a discussion.

Insha: How is everything? Is Seher remembering things?!

Mahid: It's hard to tell, to be honest. But it does seem she recalls some things. At least from her behaviour. Yesterday, when I was eating those chillies, she cried. And today, we had a moment from the past; instead of pushing me back, she was silent.

Dr Sana: Looks like we are making really good progress. Seher will soon realise she is Seher only, and then she will come with us to Lucknow. And then I can finally leave for London!

Mahid: InshaAllah! But Dr Sana, I need help from you. Insha, you too.

Insha and Dr Sana: What help?!

Mahid discusses his plan with Insha and Dr Sana.

Dr Sana: This is too dangerous, Mahid!

Mahid: This is the last option we have.

Mahid is determined.
