Did Gautam Gambhir's decisions cost Team India the series?
Reforming Prem / bringing him back to the right path isn't anyone's responsibilty, IMO. So, they can all live their own lives and Prem can forge his path to his own destruction. But since many of them claim to want to reform Prem, I think it is pretty stupid to argue about how he threw the diary when he has just confronted Thappad Queen. Vasundhara is right. You can't calm boiling oil by dousing it with water. Her dialogues to Prem were apt too and Prem was responding to her before she was interrupted. I think convincing Prem to seek professional help will be a beneficial route to take if anyone wants to reform him.
In the current global economy, Anupamaa thinks that every woman can and should purchase a house by working hard. Never mind that many men aren't earning their own house either. They are getting through inheritance / legacy / dowry. Atleast, this is what I judged from the precap. I hope I am completely wrong here and impracticality and hidden gender inequality isn't passed off as women empowerment.
Once again, I found Baa partly correct. The thing is Baa actually has friends who don't live in Shah House (as seen on her birthday), unlike the remaining loser Shahs , who are impressed with fancy crockery and stuff. So, if she wants to preserve those things for guests, I understand that. That example that Anupamaa gave of giving away yellowing crockery is probably because Baa can't clean those utensils because of her weak knees. I would be on Prerna's side if I was sure that she would give Baa money for fancy crockery if she needed them in the future. But as seen before, if Baa needs anything, either her husband will have to sell agarbatti on the road and / or she will have to work as a chef in someone's kitchen (which she apparently can't sustain because of her health). So, if she feels her fancy crockery is wasted on her useless and selfish family, I somewhat agree with her.
I thought only the Head of the Family gives Shagun but here it seems like Baa, Bapuji, Anupamaa, Digvijay, Kinjal and Toshu were all expected to give Shagun to Prerna. I can't digest that this money minded and morally corrupt family is being so generous. Maybe, Prerna will become a vamp later on and these memories will be a flashback to show how supportive the TamaShahs actually were.
UpMaaa has completely lost her marbles. Does this psycho woman truly think she can redeem Prem by challenging him, defeating him and humiliating him? It might be difficult for TamaShahs and UpMaaa to understand, but Prem has lived a pretty comfortable and sheltered life. Don't think Kotharis have ever denied him anything. He did not want to join the family business, they did not force him. He wanted to marry Raahi, and they gave their blessings. He wanted to start a restaurant of his own, they supported him. The only time he did not get his way was when Parag married Khyati. And he spent a better part of his life hating his father and stepmother for it. So it is pretty obvious that whenever things don't go his way, Prem lashes out. He needs professional help to deal with that issue and not UpMaaa's gyaan.

Honestly, Prem is acting really childish. He refuses to accept his faults and is overacting just like he did in the beginning. He expects everyone to love him, care for him, and give him attention. He hasn't achieved anything and is just freeloading. In the worst case, he's just a creep. He deserves the worst!!!"

Prem is definitely overdoing it. Mostly because the guy has no idea what the word "no" means. His family has always let him do whatever he wants and supported him in everything. So clearly he expects everyone else to do that too. He needs guidance and counseling, not Anupamaa's challenge and mocking. He is just another irritating character. But don't think he deserves the worst. There are plenty of others in this show for that.

@Bold: This is exactly why Phaltu Prem chose to hide his identity when he wanted to marry Choti Upmaa. No matter what his excuse was, hiding who you are from the person you want to marry is a total betrayal of trust. Honestly, the moment Vasundhara rejected Choti Upmaa, the marriage should have been called off. Plus, let's not forget another tiny detail — Phaltu Prem did not even have a stable job. Who marries a jobless fraud anyway?
Meanwhile, Badi Upmaa was so desperate to look noble that she refused to step down from the inspection team at Phaltu Prem's restaurant. And why? Because she probably did not even know what the term "Conflict of Interest" actually means. By trying to act like a saint, Badi Upmaa actually destroyed Choti Upmaa’s marriage. She made Choti Upmaa’s life a living hell by inviting Phaltu Prem over, chatting with him, and throwing open challenges. No adopted child on this earth deserves a toxic mother like Badi Upmaa.
Hard disagree with every woman needs to earn her own house with her own talents and skills. In that case, every man needs to do the same. But many men are inheriting properties and not earning them, which is reasonable looking at the prices of houses now a days. I mean, even rent is so difficult to afford for so many people in service. Law anyways supports women getting inheritance too but many Fathers will then will away only to their sons. So, yeah, don't like selective women empowerment.
Other than that, difficult for me to admit, but I actually agreed with Anupamaa (and felt a little bad for her too
). Every woman needs a Home, a safe place where she can live her life with full freedom. Again, every person deserves that, however from what I have seen, males do get a lot of freedom.
Khyati is irritating as is Shruti, surprising. Vasundhra is good as are Pari-Raja and Anil. Meeta is realistically (as far as one can be in ITV) unpleasant so far. Prem is a very difficult person to live with and I hope Raahi knows what she is getting into by going back to him. The competition has hardly only begun and Prem's behaviour is unbearable.
Shahs and Kotharis worrying for Raahi made for a nice feel good moment amidst all the negativity.
Anupamaa's definition of self respect includes calling Vanraj khara sona and Baa cutu. In the precap, Toshu and Pakhi are mocking Anupamaa for her dream of a new house. So many years, slaps and lectures, yet Anupamaa still lives with the Shahs and puts up with their repeated nonsense. That is her definition of self respect. Prem atleast seemed genuinely apologetic about his behaviour. Raahi took a stand against Prem, who she dearly loves, for Anupamaa, only because she felt Anupamaa was right. This is more than what spine Anupamaa has ever shown against Baa.
I guess, there are moments where I do feel for Anupamaa but the overall connect has gone. Raahi-Prem have an unhealthy (maybe, toxic) relation that I find interesting and I guess that's one of the reasons I am watching. I do appreciate that there is no '2 sisters 1 husband' drama and motherhood is the focus (however it may be). It is different from many other shows and it is what keeps me hooked to this serial.
@bsnkswami Thanks for reading my posts and for your likes :) I don't come here as often as I used to, so I miss a lot of the posts and replies.

Prem and Raahi had always had this weird sort of relationship. But the thing is, both are obsessed with each other. And Prem does have moments of genuine guilt when he goes against Raahi. He is a typical spoiled kid who wants everything to revolve around him. But don't think he's evil like Vanraj or even Leela. Both of them were abusers, who spent years stifling Anupamaa without an ounce of remorse. And yet, they are somehow good people for Anupamaa. So she should be the last one to talk about self-respect and moving on.
