Anupamaa's definition of self respect includes calling Vanraj khara sona and Baa cutu. In the precap, Toshu and Pakhi are mocking Anupamaa for her dream of a new house. So many years, slaps and lectures, yet Anupamaa still lives with the Shahs and puts up with their repeated nonsense. That is her definition of self respect. Prem atleast seemed genuinely apologetic about his behaviour. Raahi took a stand against Prem, who she dearly loves, for Anupamaa, only because she felt Anupamaa was right. This is more than what spine Anupamaa has ever shown against Baa.

I guess, there are moments where I do feel for Anupamaa but the overall connect has gone. Raahi-Prem have an unhealthy (maybe, toxic) relation that I find interesting and I guess that's one of the reasons I am watching. I do appreciate that there is no '2 sisters 1 husband' drama and motherhood is the focus (however it may be). It is different from many other shows and it is what keeps me hooked to this serial.

Let's be real — no sane woman in the history of mankind worships her regressive ex-mother-in-law as her actual mother. The only time I ever felt a shred of sympathy for Anupama was when Rakhi Dave famously exposed Vanraj and Kavya. But any leftover sympathy completely evaporated the moment Anupama walked out on a loving husband like Anuj and abandoned Choti Anu / Aadhya / Rahi. And why? All because Anuj actually dared to call her out on her absolutely pathetic priorities.
