The sanctity of love in Imtiaz Ali's films
You are not alone in rooting for the film. The teaser started with a bang. The release too will a be flooded with congratulations pouring from BW insidersEv.
Like every previous release.. Alia is the film, film is Alia.
You didn't mention Sharvari,or anything about the film. Alpha is not important. Alia is.
This makes any future collaboration with Alia very difficult. As she is if no use to any other stars in BW,even as they post in support, their fans continue to troll...and "hate" seems to be manufactured.
Everyone is only making it worse.
Has a thread like this been opened for any star, male or female. This narrative was to be started with Anupama, and Vikram Bhatt, they may have recorded at the same time. It fell apart.Nobody is reading the room even now.
Every star is supposed to want ,what Alia has. It is all just too funnyđ¤Ą.
So let's look at it this way.
Alpha as a film has entered new territory in India. A female-led action film...that's a first. And believe me, I find that exciting!!!!!
If we could leave aside the Alia hate for a minute (yes, she's a product of nepotism and yes, her career and probably this film is curated for her and handed to her on a silver platter)....there is novelty here. and novelty deserves to be celebrated.
I am a Deepika fan but when an actor is daring enough to break new ground, I give them the credit. It's risky, doing revenge drama and that too in the YRF spy universe space. Two girls, breaking the norms....two actresses championing action...what's not to love? Do we not like it when Hollywood actresses do the same?
Alia has the backing of powerful folks. but here, the fate of the film will be decided by the audience. And for the first time, I find myself rooting for the baby-faced actress.
For one,Stop labeling Alpha as the "first" female led Indian action film...this tone deaf PR narrative completely erases cinema history! Right now, Samantha's action film Maa Inti Bangaaram is running to packed, housefull theaters in the Telugu states....Even in Bollywood, just from the recent past, weâve already seen brilliant action leads from Rani Mukerji (Mardaani), Sonakshi Sinha (Akira), Taapsee Pannu (Naam Shabana), and Kangana Ranaut (Dhaakad).....Rewriting history to manufacture "firsts" only discredits the incredible women who already broke these barriers, and it unfairly invites backlash for Alia Bhatt.....Let the movie stand on its own merits without erasing the trailblazers who came before.....
We have had Rekha, Vijayshanti Anushka shetty before Rani Sonakshi Kangna and even Tapsee headlining action films and succeeding and you forgot India's first proper action movie was Hunterwali headlined by Nadia in 1935
What nonsense is Alpha being a trailblazer. So far the trailer has scenes copied from La femme Nikita and Boys whole vibe is a copy of Black widow and Salt.

Of course...and we have Sridevi, Hema Malini and a bunch of other female actors too headlining blockbuster action movies and successfully at that.....I was just mentioning a few examples from the current era because the TM seemed to have conveniently or accidentally ignored these female actors who are still active in the business and who have consistenly broken the barriers....
Minty, i think you probably meant first female lead YRF spy action movie
so far we have only seen the guys, Salman, Shah and Hritik leading the roster
a change is welcomed from yrf, there are few more i noticed. No songs released and no bikini show so far.
i liked the energy in the trailer, to some extent it worked for me, tho foundation does seems weak, outdated. how weak i will find out in few days. and won't be surprised as uday chopra cemented the foundation.
i want to see if director Shiv raiwal is able to pull this one off, the actress he has on hands has a baby face and extremely petite
who has this josh to lift heavy
see Minty, these actors, when they become popular, they feel they can do anything and everything. or just want to try on everything possible. nothing wrong, but if it bombs, pls let us , the janta have some fun at your cost.
oh as for alia backed by powerful folks, i disagree
who backed her when jigra bombed? not a single tweet in her support.
i believe, since its first yrf spy female led movie some bollywood folks felt like fake supporting.
could be paid by yrf.
most who tweeted have worked with yrf and support could be for yrf, especially after dhurandhaar impact.
maybe everyone sending final wishes to yrf before it shuts down for good
interesting days ahead Minty.
Minty keep posting..
