Can’t remember this particular storyline. Also no, Nandini or Parth/Bhoomi don’t have the first claim here because that would be Mandira as she’s shown as married to Aditya and so wife trump grandkids or DIL any day.

IMO a part of the reason why Parth chose Rio his scapegoat was also because he didn't want to see his mother being subjected to him, so probably he thought two targets from a bullet.

See even the biggest of patriarchal societies/religions do over glorify mothers. Nazi Germany is biggest example. This mother glorification isn't because they truly feel motherhood is a blessing, but only because for them mother is a tool to propagate misogyny. According to them the role of their mother was to bear children for father and raise them. You might for example see a lot of people now claiming their mothers were last generation of innocent women.. This respect for them is only restricted towards their own mother and not society as a large . .

I don't know if makers intended to show that, but I personally felt it like Parth was similar. He didn't respect Nandani as a woman and went across to say even crap about her, but he did love or even probably respect Nandani as his mother. So he didn't attack her the way or tried to shove her away like he did to Tulsi. Tulsi wasn't his grandmother., but his father's step mother. Nandani was his own mother (even if he is Tanya's son, still not sure, he doesn't know that). So he didn't go to that extent with her.

Remember Ansh had slapped Tulsi the first day she confronted him.

Parth didn't do that and was even sure that Nandani wouldn't expose his crimes

Hmm makes sense. He saw Nandini as respect worthy so long as she was his dad’s wife and his mom. But when it came to the woman, he didn’t respect her because nothing else explains the duality of him having the audacity to question her character, her trauma but also not physically attacking her. But it may also be because Nandini’s response was not physical at all unlike Tulsi’s who had already slapped Parth twice and had then physically attacked him in the farmhouse with whatever her hand found.

Nandini and Karan prided themselves for never raising their hands on their kids and so even when Nandini was scolding him and saying he was wrong, not once did she slap him or physically hurt him by using any object to make him stop from hurting Vaishnavi. She directly picked the gun.

Parth not attacking her could also be as she didn’t try to physically hurt him or slap him hurting his male ego and pride, making him want to dominate her by proving his own strength and showing he’s physically stronger as the younger one and as a man.

But jokes aside aside, I think we saw him threaten her with assault again and also telling her that he would make it seem like she killed Rio as he tried to molest her.

He wanted to probably use her to protect himself as he said he needed someone to frame to pin a murder on. He initially planned to frame Rio for killing Vaishnavi which is why he staged the whole fake engagement between them. He planned on perhaps playing the victim by proclaiming that Vaishnavi and he were off to a mini honeymoon where Rio showed up and surprised them. He would claim his injuries were from fighting Rio and at some point Vaishnavi was killed by Rio while he was unable to defend her and then how he shot Rio in rage, grief and self defence, he had seen Pari getting away with murder with practically no jail time on sympathetic grounds. He knew his parents would hire the best lawyers for him and he could get off on similar grounds of temporary insanity and self defence in the face of the attack by Rio.

Now that Rio was dead but Vaishnavi wasn’t he needed another dummy to take the fall for him and then he heard Vaishnavi and she was an easy victim. He figured that he would be able to assault her and prove her injuries were courtesy of Rio doing the same while his semen would be simply explained as them being newlyweds who consummated their marriage and made love constantly. Vaishnavi was so frightened of him that she may have been thought of being vulnerable enough to take the blame for murder too as she would be scared for the safety of her parents and any possible siblings.

The intent was to show how he wouldn’t be in prison suffering while Vaishnavi became the darling of the house by virtue of sympathy and gain everything as his wife.

Had he been jailed it’s obvious that Nandini wouldn’t have wanted Vaishnavi to deliver food to him in jail as it was, he wasn’t an innocent framed who deserved a loving and dedicated wife to see him in prison but a monster who had tried to hurt and kill her.
