Both sons should go off and do thani kuduthanam. Their parents should be left to tend to their own to realize how unreasonable they are.
I guess they will try to focus on how Suresh just raised his hand, but did not hit Mathi. Like how they showed him sympathetic and protective towards the other couple during the trip and towards the girls at the amusement park. Though the same sympathy he is unable to show towards his SIL or wife, or even his own sister. They already made Malar tell multiple times that Suresh is a good person, just that his BIL misleads him. They will give him that redemption arc where Mathi is the one who changed him for good. 
(Arache maave evlo araike porangalo) I hope Mathi makes him work hard before she accepts him. Please, no one act of saving her/protecting her, where she goes googly-eyed at him.
I was surprised that Mathi's parents were supportive; I almost expected them to tell Mathi to apologize to her in-laws. I guess the recent news would have made the show creators realize that such scenes would create a lot of backlash.
I hope the MIL gets nicely at the police station, maybe the Inspector gives some gyaan session on how to treat DILs, and asks her to apologize to Mathi. 
Won't happen, just wishing for it.
