Here is my take on Parshuram after watching it from the beginning.

This show will not get the TRP like ghum. Dont even expect that. I would say that even if it stays at 1.2, it is still a good show.

I have been lately analyzing some shows that I watch on and off. And was forced to understand this TRP game.

1. Story/Execution/emotions beats any other reason for TRP. No doubt.

but but

The number of people watching the show also is equally important.

With ghum, these two connected. Hence the longevity and also TRP leader. It is a rare combination. happens only with few shows. TRP's go down instantly if story is compromised. Once connected these audiences will not tolerate any BS! Low TRP means, the show is out or needs a gen leap.

The other shows like Anupama, YRKKH are watched out of habit mostly. Women, who at the end of day, tune in and watch as stress buster. Initially they might have invested in the show and it continued as a habit. They dont mind the story, they want the template, the legacy. It is an emotional bond to the "title" and "legacy" of the show combined with the "suitable" telecast time. The TRPs swing like crazy....but with experienced artists and makers, they survive. Ekta, Ranjan shahi and others will make it happen!

Where does Parshuram fit?

It is a show which is well made. Interesting plot, solid writing and screenplay. Story is not important. It is completely screenplay and execution. I feel like the emotions are realisitc. I am sure "some" people connect to the core emotion of the show. The power imbalance.

The problem this show will have is that, regular audience might "pass" it before giving it a try. But if they see it and connect, which I think any regular household people will, then they will stick to it. IMO. The number of viewers will be less. But tehy will be loyal because the show has necessary ingredients to make it engaging. Like I said before, men, youngsters and a very few women will watch. I DONT think, such TRP even if it is low, will go worse. It will be steady at that level. I dont see any mediocrity at all...in the show.

PS: I am thinking sheetal and shalini face off will bring more women viewers. because the 3rd angle works always! smiley36 or Shiv suspecting Shalini of criminal background...trust issues also will work!

Shalini and her kids will be sent home by the officers. Shalini is worried for her darpok/masoom husband but they manage to convince her to leave without him.

Shiv calls shalini later and hears to her galis :D he tries to act like a common man which pisses off shalini. She complains that he is least worried about the situation. Shiv as usual asks her about getting some jelebi while coming back home which rages up shalini so much that she cuts the call. Later at home, chintu slips his tongue that he has seen parshuram. Shalini interrogates him in mom mode (this scene was very natural and relatable with shalini raising rand on chintu). Shiv stops her from doing so and tells her to calm down. After the kids are gone, he cools her down by gifting her the bangles she was trying to buy in the mela.

BTW Shalini's family obviously knows about Sankalp's plan to kidnap pihu. The idea is to kidnap pihu till court case to ensure that shalini takes the case back. smiley37.

The next day all 4 are going to the court. KK plans to stop them but special officers come again and take shalini and kids in one car. Shalini is worried for shiv again but is convinced later that he is following them in another car behind. Good attack, they try to break the car windows. Shiv who is following them in the car behind will shoot them, calls KK and updates him that his attempts are failed again smiley37

yes the scenes are repetitive, but, the intensity is really high. Trust me. Today's episode is really good in terms of its execution.

Thanks for the update. I don't know why they add the celebrity competition in between? Is it only on Hotstar or on the channel as well?

I agree with you. The execution, screen play and action are amazing and natural. I can connect to Shiv and Shalini as well as Dixits to a certain extent. Every parent have high expectations from their children. Shalini chose to marry a guy who wasn't in their status so it's natural the father disowns her but I feel when her father realised that the son in law is a good person he should accept him. But, Malhar Dixit is arrogant and proud of his status. I can connect to Shalini's feelings. Every daughter would expect her parents to accept her decision and atleast at the time of crisis her would stand by her.

I agree with you regarding Anupama and Rishta. All the viewers who must be watching from the 1st episode must have got connected to the show inspite of having zero story. Parshuram also has a good number of viewers but not like the above shows.

Show was doing well at 8;30pm slot without no push from 8pm slot. 8pm slot TRPs come in 0.9 and MAMP starts the 1+ TRPs for SP. Last week it had a rise also!! But don't know why SP took this decision and shifted MAMP to a slot where avg TRP is 0.3!!! Now this week TRPs, shows MAMP has boosted the 7pm slot but other slot had no rise rather fall than the previous TRPs. So basically MAMP was a push factor for Star shows but Star Plus in a hurried way took wrong decision. Hopefully we get back our slot soon 🪬🧿 and rock the 7pm slot till then.

MAMP would have seen increase in audiences, and with last week episodes, I was sure it would have crossed 1.3+ mark in this slot itself.

I loved today's episode, and even yesterday's was really good! These episode are very much about Shivprasad silently protecting his family.

The way Parshuram hides the gun behind the game and shoots was like a real mastermind. These action sequences are really top-notch, and that background music adds so much to the impact. And of course, those bullets shot from the car while heading to court; those stunts were executed so beautifully!

What I especially enjoy is Neil's emotional connect behind these sequences. Whether it's the rage when someone targets his family, the alertness when danger is around, or the determination while fighting the goons, he makes all of it so believable. Also, the way he smiled after the whole fight sequences when Shalini scolds him wa cute. His expressions, body language, and the way he scans the surroundings make it look like Shivprasad is constantly thinking two steps ahead. It adds a lot to Parshuram's aura and makes the action scenes even more engaging to watch.

The way he is alert all the time, he had people arranged in Mela, and also while going to court, he got his team to act and make things simpler.

Also Karan and Team are just foolish. They already did all the tricks in the book, kidnapping, family was held hostage, and what not, but none of it worked; why would it work now? Why not try something new now?

Image

Also, sorry Shalini appear quite reckless for that matter. She doesn't take seriousness too seriously. smiley36 The fun part, of course, is that Shalini remains unaware that he is Parshuram. It's amusing to see the contrast between her admiring Parshuram (or at least that's how I see it, considering how agitated she was when Chintu tried to hide things about him smiley42) and arguing with Shivprasad, while both are the same person.

The bangle scene of Shivprasad-Shalini scene were good. Finally, the kids were sent off before the romance. smiley9 The same happened yesterday too, and it's nice to see scenes that focus on them as a couple. I understand there are family scenes and all, but I personally prefer a balance. Like family scenes should be about family, and not romance, whereas romantic scenes should be between couple for me to enjoy. Once in a while, kids are fine, but constant popping and kids being being jealous of their parents' loving each other is bit too much of emphasis on freudian theory of Oedipus/Electra complex and the one I disagreed with most despite being Freud fansmiley14

I have seriously stopped following shows for trp. They ended Ghum Season 2's second version, when trp was pretty good. I am still bitter about it. smiley36

Yeah perfectly said katty. The repetition is there, but at varied intensity. The family is not able to live! jeena mushkil kar diya KK ne. Imagine this happening to every middle class family taking panga with influential person. It is day in and day out life of many middle class indians. People get killed if they dont change statements. How many serious crimes have we been seeing in the news papers.

The writers intentions are pretty clear..."what is power?". He is showing the villain what real power is and also showing that a common man with a strong legal/protective system behind them will NOT have to fear. It is such a nice concept. The arrogance dixits have is a reality. I have experienced it and still experience it with some of my acquaintances who treat others as insects just because they get a high paying job. Even if their kid gets good score in the tests smiley37. it is so petty that you cant help laughing at their stupidity. With dixits also, the same is happening. They are so engrossed in their own ego, that shiv and shalini's self respect is being read as middle class ego. It is selfrespect, you dumbheads!

And I have see girls like aaradhya who will support the wrong in the name of love. These are real characters...and the writer must be well aware of all this to show it in such a nuanced way. Tell me one character other than parshuram who is not realistic! Parshuram is NOT...thats why he is an avtar, an undercover cop, who exists in imagination...not a real person.

I agree with you. I guess this show is meant for middle class families. In the earlier episodes when Piyu gets kidnapped while going to school I told my mother in law this is the reason middle class families don't reveal anything and bear the torture because they're not powerful. This is the sad truth. Here too since Shiv being a middle class person is not ready to bow down the Dixits and Kulkarnis ego has got hurt. They can't believe someone like Shiv can stand tall in front of them.
